FM 13 installation question

I know fm13 will be installed via steam and is it required internect conection to install it. but it is needed internet conection to play it?

i have no internet conection at home, i will have to install via a friends house, but whenever i want to play, do i have to play it connected to internet?

economic issues... i am going to start my professional life now as i finished my lab techinician course.
anyway, can you help me out?

you need internet connection only to play online with your friends , if you play like majority in classic mode , no you don't need internet.

firstly, thanks for the response.

but steam is the problem though.. i've bought warhammer40k dawn of war 2. i tried to play offline and steam didnt open up. thats what worries me the most. does fm13(or 12) is different from that?

if anyone has similar experiences please share it

You need internet to install the game from steam to your computer, if you downloaded it on your friends computer, it is installed on his computer. Ok? After you downloaded it on your computer you can play, it doesn't matter if you don't have internet.

i understand that. but when i try to open steam offline it doesnt open

I'll tell you what happens on my laptop. If my internet is off, Steam gives me two options: Retry or Start Offline. I can play FM12 offline, but other games (MMOs), I can't. I'm guessing the same rule will apply for FM13 as well..and of course, you will need internet connection to download it.

Yeah they changed the steam system to allow offline play for games such as fm, change has only happened recently though. So all those who are trying to enter steam and failing to do so in the offline manner, try connecting it to the internet for the update.

I will chime in that I've had mixed success with off-line access to FM12 via steam. I travel quite a bit, and at times it would be really handy to play FM12 while on a long flight. However, it seems like steam isn't very happy when it can't verify internet access when it launches. But, as long as the client is running, launching off-line games (like FM12) seems to work well.

My suggestion, always keep the steam client running and drop into stand-by mode if you're wanting/suspecting to be in an area without internet access.
