Well, It's been a great season....
But who would have thought that Middlesbrough and Newcastle would be relegated....:con
And that Fulham ended 7th !

Good Season with amazing champions =D
it's nice to see that a "big club" like newcastle has gone down, maybe there is still hope for football. and i think this will make people realise how foolish it is to talk about the "big differences" in football. because on the pitch there will most of times never be a big difference between teams and players.

yeh the transfer window will be nice.

but there are players who are loyal, especially at BORO. i would think Boro have a better chance for promotion than newcastle. because boro might loose 2-4 good players. but newcastle have loads of players who will want to leave.
Sucks to be Newcastle - 15 players with salaries over 50k a week, Micheal Owen whos salary takes over 10% of the clubs wage budget, and not one of them has a relegation clause in their contract!

Can anyone say "Financial problem x 15?!"
I was just watching the highlights of that match and the commentators were talking about what happened to Leeds when they got relegated and they were hoping that it wasn't going to happen to Newcastle.

Does anyone here believe that they will go down the same path as Leeds or bounce right back into the Premiership?

P.S. I don't really know what happened to Leeds but only that they were once good and now really suck in League 1.

nope most of the players will be sold, considering many will want to leave. they have a few players from other countries as well, and most of them wont be that loyal as the local ones.
well basically what happened to leeds is same as what is going to happen to newcastle.

big club, big wages, big players - relegation, no release clauses, sell every player, can't get good replacements - administration through no income and huge outgoings. and another relegation etc.

newcastle will be devastated by this relegation, sad to see it happen to a fairly good side.

but burnley in the prem haha absolutely amazing my town is buzzing at the moment
boro will bounce straight back up again with reading and sheffield

Yeah I know most of them will go...... but as people are saying, they'll have to be so careful it doesnt create another Leeds. And that definately is financial problems!

yeh but leeds had far worse economy than what newcastle have. especially considering you do get quite good amount of money going down. i think they wont have a big transfer budget and will only buy if they sell, and that is inevitable really =P
Leeds was in massive amounts of debt when they went down

plus now there the new parachute payments you receive when your relegated, (which is nearly 11 mill a year) it wont help a great deal to newcastle outgoings but hopefully wont be a complete free fall as leeds were
there will never be another leeds incident, thats what parachute payments were brung in for.
but they will not get back to the prem anytime soon
