Well done with your signings! I hope that they gel in quickly!

Maldini's first interview

Hello Mr. Maldini. How do you feel with sitting here as the new manager of A.C. Milan?
I can’t say that I planned it. Milan needed my help and as always, I am delighted to help this fantastic club.
How did the squad reacted to see you as their new manager?
Surely, none of us is happy that Allegri had to leave. But that’s the way it is.
What do you believe A.C. Milan can achieve this season?
As always, we will try to challenge for the title and do our best.
You really believe you are still one of the top clubs in Italy? Even after Ibrahimovic and the rest left?
Listen, Ibrahimovic is a great player. But he is only a player, not a team. A.C. Milan is always strong.
A.C. Milan signed 3 young players. Bellusci, Adryan and Liviero. Is this what you aim for? To build a young squad?
Exactly. We already have Niang, El Shaarawy, De Sciglio and Pato and I want to continue signing young players.
Does that mean that veterans such as Abbiati, Flamini and Ambrossini will leave?
Not at all. They will guide the young players. We even offered them new contracts to extend their time at the club.
Kevin-Prince Boateng is your new vice-captain and your new number 10. Isn’t that too much confidence in one player?
Not at all. I am delighted that he chose to stay with us and he deserves our confidence.
There were a lot of suggestions that you will make a change in your attacking side of the squad. Sell Robinho and use the money to bring other striker. In the end you decided to keep the attack as it is. Why?
Why? I have Pazzini, Robinho, Pato, Bojan, El Shaarawy and Niang. It’s one of the strongest attacking squad in the world. And about Robinho, I talked to him and I saw him training. He’s going to bring his best this season.
Well, that’s all for today. Thank you Mr. Maldini.
