I'm Andrew. Cole. In the footballing circles, I go by Andy, not a nickname I particularly like. But - what's in a name?
I had a reasonably successful club career - mainly with Manchester United and Newcastle - picking up 15 caps for my country.
By late 2008 I realized that I couldn't go on playing anymore, and decided to retire.
After retirement, though, comes the question. Do I stay in football, or leave?
I figured I'd have to stay. You still have to earn a living, or atleast, find something to do after you quit playing. Some players have degrees, or go to study and do something else, but I felt that that wasn't for me.
I started coaching here and there, starting with Milton Keynes, and Huddersfield Town. Finally I ended up coaching at my old club Manchester United until I finished my coaching badges.
So, now I figured, might as well get a managerial job! After finishing my badges, I spent some time holidaying and reading up, but now it was the time to get back to work.
I've let my agent know I'm available, and I will just have to see how it goes from here.
