I'm Andrew. Cole. In the footballing circles, I go by Andy, not a nickname I particularly like. But - what's in a name?

I had a reasonably successful club career - mainly with Manchester United and Newcastle - picking up 15 caps for my country.

By late 2008 I realized that I couldn't go on playing anymore, and decided to retire.

After retirement, though, comes the question. Do I stay in football, or leave?

I figured I'd have to stay. You still have to earn a living, or atleast, find something to do after you quit playing. Some players have degrees, or go to study and do something else, but I felt that that wasn't for me.

I started coaching here and there, starting with Milton Keynes, and Huddersfield Town. Finally I ended up coaching at my old club Manchester United until I finished my coaching badges.

So, now I figured, might as well get a managerial job! After finishing my badges, I spent some time holidaying and reading up, but now it was the time to get back to work.

I've let my agent know I'm available, and I will just have to see how it goes from here.
Good luck Arvind.
Good luck with this... Andy Cole, what a legend
Good luck with this.
"..and Ben Arfa skips the challenge from the defender and dribbles past two more..and puts it past the keeper! GOAL!"

"WOOOOO!", I screamed. What a goal that was. He ran past the entire defence and slotted it past the goalie. It reminded me of Messi's goal a couple of years ago.

Anyway, I felt a vibration in my pocket. I took out my flip phone and opened it with my thumb.

A new message.

Alan Pardew was sacked? He signed a new contract a month ago, so I was astonished. Part of me said that Mitch was pulling a prank on me. Only way to find out - call him.

I typed in his number frantically, and pressed the glowing green button.

"Yo", I heard from the other end.

"Mate, if you're joking about this, I'm gonna break in a couple of your teeth.", I said to him.

"I'm not. So - do you want the job?"

"Hell yes! I'm not passing this up. Why did he sack Pardew though? He did a good job getting them fifth last year."

"No freaking clue. Pack up and get to the airport NOW. Our plane leaves in two hours."

Wow, I thought. Then I decided to stop thinking. Because I was already late!
