Hi I try to buy him all the time for Man Utd. as he as a lot of talent, therefore he will costs a bit because he is referred to as a wonderkid. You can splash the cash on him at around 20-30M, or you can be clever. Here is what I mean.
1.Talk to the press about the player.
a) Declare your interest
b) Endorse the player; meaning that you will say he should be at a better club, i.e your club.
c) Admire him, say that you love watching him play and that he will be a talent in the future
The whole point of this is to unsettle him and make him want to be put on the Transfer List, no team wants an unhappy player, so the Asking price should go down to maybe 10-15M to further unsettle him do this.
2.Put in SENSIBLE bids every now and then
a)Putting in bids of 1-2M won't have any effect, there is no point when you are buying somebody of this calibre.
b)Putting in decent bids that they reject or that they counter, can anger the player with their current club as they are not letting him got into contract terms with them.
c)Theres always the option of money of a certain period of time; 10M over 12 Months ect.
After I did this I got ter Stegen for around 8M, nothing else, just 8M on a 30K p/w contract for 4 years.
