good to see an affiliation with man utd ;D

keep it up the good reuslts will follow :)
December

Oldham 1-1 Portsmouth
Both teams in the bottom half of the table this game was always going to be a scrap. Ashley Harris got the equaliser and the 17 year old is really starting to make a name for himself at the club.

Portsmouth 2-1 Scunthorpe
Brilliant win at home, Piquionne got the winner with the first goal being a own goal. However some awful news as Piquonne has got injured for 3 MONTHS!! But still fantastic 3 points.

Preston 3-1 Portsmouth
With Piquonne out injured this was always going to be a struggle going forward. However it was defencivly where we were poor for a change. Mpenza got the only goal for us and hopefully he can step into Piquonnes boots.

Doncaster 0-1 Portsmouth
Well this is turning into a very good month for us indeed. Doncaster are currently in the relegation area and it was our right back Dumbuya the unlikely scorer. 3 more points for this month has moved us up to 16th place.

Pompey 1-1 Yeovil
Another point on the board with the 41 year old Jari Litmanen getting the goal. Hopefully we can finish the month with atleast a point.

Portsmouth 1-1 Crawley
Very good point at home against a very controlling Crawley side. Our Swedish under 21 Adjei got our goal. He looked a impressive subsitute with raw pace. Good solid end to the month.

Summary= 9 points is a great accomplishment for December. Its put us 8 points clear from relegation. However we have 2 tough months ahead against most of the top teams so i imagine that gap will decrease rapidly.
nice job so far man. its a real real tough team to play with. i got the same affiliation in my game with them and man utd were a god send. the only thing i did really differently was try to lose as many players in the beginning as i could. stayed around mid table until january then got some real nice transfers, mostly loans too. good luck and maybe a magical russian billionaire will buy the club!
January

NEW SIGNINGS!

Fode Mansare
Is not the greatest player but we need fresh people in the squad until the end of the season

Angelos Charisteas
A greek legend with great ability, hopefully he can score some crucial goals to keep us in the league.

Martin Rowlands
Very versitile midfielder with reasonable ability at a very old age. With a lot of our expeirenced midfielders leaving in October he looks a ok replacement

Romeo Castelen
Very quick winger who should create a lot of chances for us. Probably the pick of the bunch.

Will Keane
Man Utd have given us Will Keane on loan till the end of the season. Pretty pacey foward who might grab a goal from the bench if needed.
nice signings. keane was great for me. same w rowlands. i got both of them in january too. best of luck!
Thanks for all the comments guys Hopefully your enjoying the story as much as i am :D
January results

Hartlepool 2-0 Portsmouth
Terrible display and a lot of the players seemed very uniterested before the game. The 6-7 hour journey looked to have taken its toll on the players. With only one game at home this month it could be very unsuccessful.

Brentford 2-0 Portsmouth
Top of the league showed why they are there in this game. Out classed us everywhere and every minute. We are lucky to come away with just the 2-0 loss as it could of been highly embarassing.

Portsmouth 0-0 Bournemouth
Realistically we needed to win this game considering our final 2 games of the month are going to be very hard indeed. But derby games are always tricky and we just couldnt get that winner.

Shrewsbury 2-1 Portsmouth
Disapointing result but hardly surprising. Adjei got our only goal and even that came with its fair share of luck. Next week could be even worse.

Coventry 3-0 Portsmouth
As expected Coventry destroyed us. They are a extremely strong team for this league and well we are just poor :D

Summary= 1 point is obviously not good enough but with 4/5 away games its not surprising. Next month should be better but with the form its going to be hard to pick up the players morale.
February

Portsmouth 2-1 Notts County
Amazing start to the month with this massive win. They have been a good team to play this year giving me 6 points. This was the win i needed considering the other two games this month are away.

Leyton Orient 3-0 Portsmouth
Not surprised we lost to be honest. We have not shown a lot away from home recently which is a big shame for the fans. Concedeing 3 however is very poor. The next game should be even harder.

MK Dons 3-2 Portsmouth
Great performence by the whole team and very unlucky not to come away with anything. Castelen and Charisteas got the goals. We looked a much better side then the previous game which I suppose is a positive.

Summary= We picked up the maximum points that I expected really so I cant have too many complaints. No cleansheet though which is a problem and hopefully our defence will become relativly solid again
March

Seens before the Walsall game at Fratton Park

Portsmouth 1-0 Walsall
Brilliant peformence!! Everything I wanted from the team they gave this game. Everyone worked so hard for eachother. Veteran Rowlands got a fantastic goal. 3 points and most importantly a cleansheet.

Sheffield 1-1 Portsmouth
This month is getting better and better. To go to Sheffield and snatch a point was fantastic. A late equaliser from Castalen sent the fans crazy in the stand and even had the manager and staff join in with the celebrations. Loud cries of 'We are staying up' could be heard all over Sheffield.

Portsmouth 2-1 Bury
The unbeaten month continues and the morale in the camp could not be better. Rowlands and Charisteas with the goals. This win has put us 7 points clear of relegation which of course is no where near safety.

Tranmere 1-0 Portsmouth
The loss had to be coming somewhere. We played pretty well to be honest and were just unlucky not to grab something. We have a home game to finish the month with and fingers crossed for 3 points

Portsmouth 2-2 Carlisle
Not 3 points but still something to increase the gap at the bottom. Castenlen got both goals to ensure that we finish the month in good stead.

Summmary= Amazing month, these results have taken a lot of pressure off the team. But we have a very hard run in and we are no where near safe.
April

The relegation dog fight is reaching a close in League one and we caught up with FM General before the next game for his thoughts on the chances of his side staying up with 5 games remaining. 'The fact we are out of the relegation zone at the moment is a huge positive. However its very close and if we lose today we will probably be only one point clear. We have 3 consecutive home games and we cannot afford any major slip ups'.

'There are a couple of big sides in the battle like Colchester and Doncaster who I just cant see going down. But I know my team will give it there all'.

Crewe 1-0 Portsmouth
So unlucky not to get anything from this game. We were dominant for a change but conceded a silly goal and just could not lift the tempo to strike back. Bad start and need to pick up some big points next week.

Portsmouth 0-1 Swindon
Wow this is worrying times. We just dont look like scoring at the moment and when we have two more home games to go this is not the best time for it. This is getting way to close for my liking.

Portsmouth 2-1 Stevenage
Thank God!! This is a gigantic win for us and fully deserved. Mansare and Adjei were the unlikely scorers. This has pushed us 2 points clear of relegation and fingers crossed one more win should secure safety.

Portsmouth 0-0 Oldham
A very dull affair but another point has kept us 2 clear so hopefully we will go into the last game of the season only needing a point as out Goal difference is slightly better. We face Colchester who are also down in the scrap at the moment...should be a tense game.

Colchester 1-1 Portsmouth
WE ARE STAYING UP!!! SAY WE ARE STAYING UP!!! After going behind early I feared the worst for my team and at one point we were on the edge of relegation, however a great ball back post late on and Piquionne diving header to secure safety.

Summary= Was actually a poor month to be honest but we did what we had to do and I am elated. Cannot wait to start next year and get some fresh faces and actually have the chance to mold my own team.
well done on keeping the team up ;D , good luck with the squad remoulding,
1
You've done really well to keep a struggling team up man! It is time to rebuild a team who was in Europe just five years ago! :)
Thanks guys the support is much appreciated!!
NEW SEASON

With a lot of the old players leaving this year it gave ma a big chance to make my mark on the team and bring my own set of players in. However the budget I have for this season I know I will have to look at some serious bargains.

Transfer budget= 60k Wage budget= 32k

The wage budget is very disapointing considering im already using 12k of it. So 20k is not a lot when I need about 15 new players. I know the kind of players I want and the tactics I want to play already.

New Signings

Pre Season

Not a bad pre season and some big positives to take. We look like we can actually compete against teams now unlike last season. Also the final signings for our squad have been made.

With 18 new faces in the squad its very exciting. Some players look fantastic the likes of Lingazi, Martin, Obika and Seliga look very good.

A lot of the youngester have come for frees from various European youth squads and some look like they can play at a reasonable level in years to come.

With a mix of youth and experience I am extremely excited about how the team is going to and how well they will gel together.
