AUGUST
Portsmouth 2-0 Millwall (League Cup 1st Round)
Very unexpected victory considering its a brand new squad up against a very good Championship side. We probably didnt deserve to win but Ertl got the first and a own goal got us a victory.
Bradford 1-0 Portsmouth
First game of the season and a poor performence against the League 1 new boys. The goal came from our own defender as he put a 20 yard back pass into his own net. Some positives for sure though.
Portsmouth 2-2 Tranmere
First home game of the campaign and always nice to get a point. Martin and Davies with the goals. However some dreadful news is that Lingazi is injured for 3 months!!!!
Middlesborough 0-2 Portsmouth
INCREDIBLE RESULT! Considering there top earner is on more than our whole squad this is a great result. Goals from the two strikers Obika and Martin meant the long trip up for the travelling fans was well worth it.

These players should be awesome for this league and cover for Lingazi for the next 3 months.
Blackburn 1-0 Portsmouth (League cup 2nd round)
Another good performence and I am not too disapointed to be out of the cup as there is no real financial benefit of the League Cup.

Looks a very good player and a right mid is exactly what we needed.
Portsmouth 3-1 Notts County
Notts have always been the team we get maximum points against and nothing changed. Goals from Perone, Parrett and Martin gave us all 3 points quite comfortably. Good win to end a great month

Summary= Very good start to the season with the new squad. Martin is looking a incredible buy for 60k as hes already worth 300k+. Hopefully he will get a lot of goals this season.
