youth development

I was just wondering because i am at Barca and one of the board promises is to promote youth and i am happy to do so but i am not really getting much through the academy. I was wondering if i bough young players from different teams would that still go towards the promoting yout promise.

In my experience, no, the only thing that makes this go any higher is using players on youth team contracts. It also seems to reset every year, so even if you get it really high over one year it can go back to average the next. I'm also not entirely sure how it's supposed to work in the long run, my experience with it is only over three or four seasons, so it might work differently after then!

I am managing Man Utd and our youth sucks. I 'replaced' young players by signing wonderkids from abroad. And in the final season, I still get good board confidence in youth development..

Just make sure that you play the young players in some first team games.

My first team includes eight players under the age of 20, all of which play regularly, but the only way I've got the youth development confidence to go up is to play actual youth team players. Are you sure they signed on full contracts, not pre-contract deals? If you've signed them on pre-contracts then they still count as youth team players. If not then I wonder what's going on in my save!
