Im in my first season at newcastle, and after living in england for over 330 days Papa Cisse still hasnt learned english. I still have Demba Ba playing with him as i hear that helps to have someone that speaks his native language playing with him.

Ive also checked his adaptability in the databse and its 11/20.

Am i doing something wrong ? or is there anything more i can do to speed his learning along ?

serious answers please.
just a quick update, its now 400 days that cisse has resided in England and still he doesnt know english.

Ive even got him to tutor a younger english player in hope he will learn english from the younger player but that isnt working either.

Cisse is very happy as he has a high morale (Superb) and no unhappy thoughts.

So why hasnt he learnt at least English (basic) by now ?
Some players are set in the database so that they actually cannot learn a specific languate. I remember Shinji Kagawa couldn't learn English in FM 2012. It might be the case with Cissé, though I'm not sure. It's an annoyingly simplistic way of making it harder for some players to learn a specific languange, since that's just not how it works in real life. Hopefully that's not the case and there's something else going on with him in your game!
thanks for the reply joey. yeah i thought of that too, i checked the databse and he doesnt have the box ticked that says he cant learn english so unless the game then amends the databse afterwards, then it cant be that.

i'll bear with it however, because i have been googling the issue for a few days now and most peoples opinion is that as long as a player is playing well (which he is) then dont worry about it. My personal point of view though is that he may play even better if he can commuinicate better with his teammates if he can speak english.
I'm pretty sure that as long as someone there has a language in common there shouldn't be any real problems. It makes sense because that player could relay the instructions and stuff, and it makes sure the players don't get homesick, so it shouldn't be that big a deal.

As long as he's playing as well I wouldn't worry about it either, definitely agree he'd probably be better if he learnt it but it's not the end of the world if he doesn't. :)
AH HA ! FINALLY !

492 days residing in england and NOW he can speak English (basic) ! :-)
