Oh yes, is Richard Wright any good? :))
Haha hes a very good number 4 GK :P

Unforunutely he isn't included in any of my plans unless he makes an appearance on the subs bench in league cup lol

Kinkladze wastes no time in getting rid of Kolo Toure

Less than 10 days after taking charge, Gio Kinkladze has shown the door to one player. Ivorian defender Kolo Toure has joined Newcastle United for £5.75m. Kinkladze feels the squad will improve with younger players and Kolo is one of those he considers to be surplus to requirements.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is happy with his new signing and feels he still has a lot to offer, “Kolo is a proven Premier League player, he is a strong, powerful defender and I feel he fits in with what we want here at Newcastle.

Manchester City can confirm the Club have agreed a package worth £40m to bring Roma’s Italian midfielder Daniele De Rossi to the Etihad Stadium, which is the biggest deal in the Club’s history and costing more than the previous record of £38m for Sergio Aguero.

Manager Georgi Kinkladze set his sights on De Rossi from his first meeting with the Club’s Chairman and the deal has taken a few weeks to complete but it is done. Daniele will miss the Club’s pre-season training camp in the USA, but he will join the squad as soon as they return to Carrington next week.

“Daniele is an unbelievable player as he proved during Euro 2012 and I am delighted that the deal has been completed. He will fit perfectly into what we are doing here and I’m sure he will bring plenty of success to the Club. I would like you all to welcome Daniele to the Club and I hope you are excited as I am to see him in a sky blue shirt.”

More new names at the Etihad

Manchester City keeps spending with new manager Georgi Kinkladze. Today they have completed a new signing but only for a small fee of £3.5m, the player is relatively unknown in England but Wellington Nem is tipped to be a massive star in his native Brazil but has decided to make the move to England to further his career.

Another new arrival at City today was the appointment of former Liverpool director, Damien Comolli, as their new Director of Football. He will assist Manager Georgi Kinkladze in bringing in new signings and dealing with player contracts at Manchester City.

Training Camp ends and another new man arrives at Carrington

I was happy with how our training camp in New York went, the squad gelled a lot more than I expected and the exciting news from back home about the arrival of Daniele De Rossi had put a spring in the step of many players.

Not only would I have a new man in De Rossi, but also the signing of Wellington Nem and an even newer arrival in the shape of Diego Lugano, on loan from PSG, would make dealing with the rigors of this season a lot easier. I was also pleased that Damien Comolli had joined and he didn’t take long bringing in some top class coaches to add the experience we already had.

Going into our friendlies I was more than happy with how things were going, I just hope the performances on the pitch are as impressive as how we have been on the training ground.
How is Diego Lugano for you?

Beware Comolli doesn't make you sign the next Andy Carroll :P
He played ok in the 2 games of pre-season he played before getting injured!

Will test him out more in the League Cup and when needed in the League when i experiment with my 3 at the back haha!

I've got him in charge of staff signings, not players lol

Unbeaten Pre-season

An impressive pre-season from the lads and I was happy with our preparation for the new season.

The first game saw us travel to the Czech Repulic to take on Banik Ostrava and a game I expected us to win and convincingly, even for our first friendly. We dominated the game in all aspects but only managed two goals, one from David Silva and one from Edin Dzeko.

We then faced Dutch team Feyenoord and after going one down, our lads bounced back and we won it 3-1, goals from Clichy, Nasri and another from Dzeko.

A trip to London Road saw us face Championship team Peterborough, and just like the first game we dominated from beginning to end but could only find the net twice, this time from Aguero and Lescott.

A quick trip over to Spain to face Alcoron came next, and I chose to play a few fringe players and a different formation. We didn’t really get into the game and it took a Maicon goal just before half time to salvage a 1-1 draw.

Finally we faced the “French Man City”, PSG. The game was televised on ESPN and we didn’t fail to impress just before the Community Shield. Over 60% possession and 30 attempts on goal saw us win 2-0, this time the goals came from Yaya Toure and then a third goal of pre-season from Edin Dzeko.

Next up – Community Shield, Man City vs Chelsea from Villa Park.
Very nice signings there man :) Good pre-season too, hopefully you can emulate that form :P

Manchester City manager Georgi Kinkladze has rewarded Edin Dzeko with a starting place in the Community Shield after an impressive pre-season, he also handed a start to new £40m signing Daniele De Rossi.

Chelsea’s front 4 were all new signings so it will be interesting to see how they blend together, Oscar, Hazard, Ben Arfa and Jovetic all have a chance to shine in this season opener.

First Half –

The first half saw Chelsea dominate the first 10minutes, putting plenty of crosses into the box and having a few long distance efforts saved by Joe Hart. An Edin Hazard free kick in the 11th minute was a turning point though, as Kompany headed clear and it ended up at the feet of David Silva, who ran 65 yards down the pitch before cleverly finishing at the near post to make it 1-0 City.

Chelsea carried on pressing and having more of the possession without ever really threatening and their day got even worse in the 31st minute as Pablo Zabaleta’s cross found the head of the in-form Edin Dzeko to make it 2-0 City. And City weren’t finished there, some clever play inside the box saw the ball go wide to Silva and his cross was met perfectly by Samir Nasri who made it 3-0 just before the break.

Half Time – Chelsea 0 Manchester City 3 (Silva 11, Dzeko 31, Nasri 41)

Second Half –

Well, well, well…the second half! We dominated from start to finish, the players were unbelievable and although the penalty in the 53rd minute did look a little dodgy, Sergio Aguero stepped up to convert his first goal since he scored the winner in May.

In the 63rd minute, after a bad pass in the middle of the park from Mikel, Edin Dzeko sprinted pass John Terry before smacking the ball home from 25 yards to make it 5-0 City, and things would get even better. Not only were we completely dominating but we added another goal, a cross from Wellington Nem was turned in at the near post by Joleon Lescott to make it SIX!

Final Score – Chelsea 0 Manchester City 6 (Silva 11, Dzeko 31,63, Nasri 41, Aguero 53(p), Lescott 84)

What a win!

BRILLIANT WIN, did you not pay a bit over the odds for De Rossi?

I couldnt believe it when i was sat here watching it lol especially after 10mins, i was dreading my story starting with an embarrassing defeat...how wrong i was

Probably paid £5-8m more than i wanted to but the deal is spread out over 3 years so didnt have such a massive impact on my budget, hes started well for me so i'm happy at the minute.

Opening day of the season

Georgi Kinkladze is set for his first league game in charge of Manchester City. Coming off the back of their massive 6-0 win in the Community Shield, Kinkladze is confident of another win in the opening game of the season….away at Manchester United.

A fantastic way to open the season, a Manchester Derby! Revenge may also be on the cards for United for two reasons, losing the title to City in the final seconds of last season and of course the 23rd October last season when, in the corresponding fixture, Manchester City put six past United in a game dubbed “Six And The City”
