Portsmouth FC haven't had the best of times in recent years with all the financial difficulty surrounding the club, but that didn't scare me away from the job as there manager. I was looking for a challenge since retiring from my playing days at Barcelona. I was anxious at this challenge but knew I could keep this great club away from the depths of liquidation and steer them to the direction of champions of Europe.
The contract
Portsmouth chairman Graham Roome has welcomed you Jackson Hathi to Fratton park. You have the full backing of the board. In terms of your contract you will be on 600 pound a week and your contract will expire in June 2013, Good luck!
Season Expectations
Due to the poor financial state of the club there will be no allocated transfer budget and in terms of the wage budget I have 30.5k with the club already spending 34.9k I was going to make changes especially if i wanted to meet the goal of a top half finish.
First things first
So this is it I sit here in my first month as manager of Portsmouth FC, I get straight into transfer listing everyone in the team to try to lower the wage bill to hopefully bring in a few players on lower wages and with greater potential. With an already small squad of 17 players it is going to be hard to win games but im not worrying. One player i hope to keep hold of is Akos Buzsaky he has great potential in league 1.
End of pre season
So with the end to a disappointing pre season I did have one thing to look forward to and that is the recent takeover by a bussiness man named David Sheepshanks he has taken a loan of 144k to fund the day to day running of the club but has insisted he is not going to invest any money into the club at this point.
