February

CHAMPIONES, CHAMPIONES, OLE, OLE, OLE!
We did have a fairly good month, getting through to the quarter final of the FA cup (against Milwall) and winning the Capital One Cup, thanks to an Eden Hazard hat-trick and a double from Oscar. I probably made FA cup matches more difficult than necessary but I am through. Andre Ayew had a good first two appearances, scoring two and gaining an assist before picking up an injury.

League Table

Looking promising, although one game in hand is away at the Etihad :/

My player of the month

Eden Hazard:

Games:7
Goals:4 (cup final hat-trick)
Assists:6
Average Rating:7.35

March

Hopefully there will be more Champions League and FA cup games to talk about!

March

March saw us play extremely well in league, picking up a win against 2nd place Arsenal, and a creditable draw at City. The Champions League was very tense. After Benedikt Howedes scored in the 2nd minute, we went in search of an equaliser.

When Azpilicueta took a long throw-in, David Luiz headed in at the near post. Unfortunately, on the stroke of half-time, Schalke picked up their second of the night.

The second half was very tense, and when Eden Hazard sent Robert Acquafresca through, he calmly slotted home. Lampard went on to hit the bar as we tried to wrap things up, but it finished 2-2. This sent us through on away goals.

League Table

We have finally managed to crawl our way into the top 4, still with 2 games in hand :).

April

Before you see my results next month, take into account I have no Cech, Cole, Lampard, Vidal, Ayew, Kleber or Ramires for the first leg of the Champions League :/.

April

April saw me lose my Champions League Quarter final against City, after having to play 17 year old keeper, Mitchell Beeney. He played every game of the month, saving a couple of penalties along with many mistakes. I finally found my way back into the top 4, but will I hold my position?

League Table

My player of the Month

André Ayew:

Games:6
Goals:2
Assists:5
Average Rating:8.20

May and End of season update

Poor result against West Brom but a great way to see out the season at Southampton.

Contract

I was also given the philosophies:

-Play attacking football
-score from set pieces

My player of the Season

Eden Hazard

Hazard performed excellently, being the club's leading goalscorer. He was pushed close by Ramires, but in the end he was injured too often.

Games: 67 (1)
Goals: 24
Assists: 22
Average Rating: 7.40
Very good story m8, I like you way of presenting it. Keep it up ;)

Sky Sports are reporting that there could already be early transfer movement at Chelsea. The west London club are reportedly preparing to sell long-time players Michael Essien and Ashley Cole.

Leave your comments below on what you think of the deals.

Comments

Paul says: I think maybe Essien leaving is ok, but never Cole.

John says: Maybe it is time to get rid of the "old guard"....let Cole and Essien go with some others. Maybe even Torres??
I like the idea behind signing Matti Destro and Ayew, but it seems shortsighted. See, by my count you have no fewer than 4 strikers (Destro, Moses, Torres, and Long) and, while Long seems to be doing quite well (I wasn't sure he was going to), for what sounds like a 1 striker formation, four senior strikers is a lot. Perhaps selling Torres would do good on balancing your budgets.

And then you have the problem with advanced midfielders (Mata, Marin, Oscar, Ayew, and God knows who else), but that's easier when you have between 3 and 5 midfield positions)

I don't know how Kléber is doing for you, and I think that that wasn't the best decision. You seem to have a decent budget, and could have found a younger left back a similar price, or simply pushed Azilicuepa, or whatever his name is...

In any case, you seem to have juggled it well this season, but I'm interested in how it's going to progress in the next few seasons... do you have a viable long-term plan?
I have been plain a 4-5-1 with wingers and DM, and only had Long Torres and AcquaFresca(loanee). Long was my starter, until he broke his leg, so I ended up switching between the other 2 while they looked for form. Long scored 10, Torres 16 and Acquafresca 10. The tactic does mean that I often have high goalscoring midfielders (Hazard 19, Mata 13, Ramires 12) so I didn't really need another in Jan. The long-term plan with strikers is to sell Torres soon, and look for profit on Long, while Destro joins and Lukaku returns, and maybe I sign Falcao or Neymar (both of whom are transfer listed).

In midfield, Marin and Moses left on loan for the season. Oscar had a poor season and will probably leave this season on loan. I have already decided to sell Marin though. De Bruyne will also be coming back. Between my two CM and DM I have Lampard (old), Ramires (on form), Vidal (on form), ayew (on form) and Zimmermann (Backup).

In defence, Kleber was runner up for signing of the season, despite only playing 9 in the prem. He is old now but still a good player, while Cole could be sold for a fair amount of money. Kleber would then probably start and Azpilicueta backup (already trained to LB). Personally I believe that I have a strong backbone, possibly in need of a striker and young but exciting CB.

Pre-Season

We had a fairly easy pre-season and some nice results. One injury picked up was a broken ankle in training for Zimmermann.

Pre-Season goal scorers

Mata (3)
Zimmermann (2)
Terry (2)
Vidal (1)
Lukaku (1)
Destro (1)
Omeruo (1)
Stelios Rokas [new signing] (1)
Aké (1)
Long (1)
Christensen (1)

Unfortunetely I changed save for a bit and will have to re-do August again from the 2-0 W against Bilbao, sorry :(
To my extreme dissappointment at how short this lasted, the story will be cut short due to the save file being corrupted. Very sorry everyone and will be Starting again soon, hoping to do better.
