Marino takes hotseat following Cervera departure

Last weekend, Tenerife Chairman Miguel Concepción announced the resignation of manager Álvaro Cervera.

"Álvaro and I have had a lengthy discussion and he has reconsidered his future at Tenerife. He has decided to break his contract and will be out of a job by the weekend."

Concepción told the press who were participial interested as Cervera joined a matter of weeks before his resignation.

The past few days have been filled with rumors of a new manager, several older, experienced managers, even some who have spent time in the top flight, but in the end, Concepción looked to younger blood to manage the team.

Rodolfo Marino was the man in the spotlight this afternoon. The 29 year old's career ended in the last few months of 2011 when he seriously injured his leg. Still recovering, the Argentinian has been on the lookout for a job over the past few months.

Despite some arguing he has little experience in management, it is common knowledge Marino has a plentiful knowledge of tactics and has spent many seasons leading his team as a captain.

Marino will meet press and officially join Tenerife at the weekend, but it is official, Rodolfo Marino is the new head-coach.
Really looking forward to this, been to Tenerife several times, and thinking of going to a match this year. Will be keeping a close eye on this!

P.S. First comment as a mod :D

Marino meets press

Press gathered at the Estadio de Tenerife to question new manager Rodolfo Marino, who arrived on the scene with a visibly bad leg. He took his seat and looked exited to take his first action as manager.

"How do you feel about getting this job?"

"I am very exited. Tenerife didn't have a great season last year and I hope to correct the mistakes that led to their relegation."

"What are your targets?"

"Has to be promotion. If I didn't get it I'll have failed myself."

"Tenerife seem to have a decent amount to spend. Do you plan to make many transfers?"

"I am not going to reshape the entire team but I will be building on it, yes."

"Good luck."

"Thank you."

REPORT
I arrived at the training ground yesterday to analyse my players, after observing them for several hours yesterday and then spectating individual coaching this morning, I have created a report on the team. This report is subject to change, as you never can judge if you are seeing form or class.

My key players at this time are:
- Luismi Loro, CAM
- David Medina, CB
- Chechu, RAM
- Raul Llorente, LWB

The weakest players in my first team are:
- Javi Moyano, RWB
- Inigo Ros, CM
- Victor Bravo, CM
- Nico, CAM

Changes I will make:
I think that I'd like to begin training the squad to play a. In the transfer market, I'm wanting to pull in three or four players. In order of importance, Right Wing-back, Center-Mid, Attacking-Midfielder and then a second Center Mid.

Signed,
They've had two relegations in a row actually
Hope you can get them to the BBVA as soon as you can. Will be watching this story!!!
^^Cheers. And I know, I'm just saying, fair enough they get relegated once but twice is just not good enough.
Really good start :)
^Thanks mate.
Great to see someone not going for Barcelona or Real Madrid. Good luck.
Good start m8, I will be following ;)
Cheers guys. Tomorrow, I begin my assault on the pre-season and the transfer market!

Cup draw prepares Tenerife for Competitive matches

The Spanish cup's first and second round draw was arguably the first tense moment of Marino's career as a Manager, and it wasn't long until the tension broke.
Tenerife were the first name taken from the pot, earning them a home draw. The following name, their opposition, in a bizarre coincidence, shared their name with Tenerife's new manager, C.D Marino.
It was later confirmed that the team they would play if they beat C.D. Marino would be Alcoyano.
Rodolfo Marino seemed relieved after the draws, but nevertheless, determined.
Mere hours before the draw, a transfer was carried out by Marino, the first of his career. He would bring in free-transfer Miguel Alfonso Pérez Aracil, better known as Miguel Pérez.

Pérez, a Spanish attacking-midfielder left Levante on free-transfer in January 2011 and since has took a break from football, though, when offered a spot on the fallen giant Tenerife, he jumped at the opportunity to play first team.
At 32, he is probably past his peak, but as a player who is recognized in the top division in Spain, he is still capable of making his presence known.
Wow, great writing! Love it and I hope that he does great stuff for you!
Thanks very much :).
