does anyone know what happens if you select more leagues and if i were to select alot more leagues would it slow down the game alot more? i know that it will enable the other countries to be managed in and will have more players. I am trying to start a game with all the countries selected but with only the top league in all of the minor countries (in footballing terms lol), will this slow the game alot?
it depends on your computer configuration...but most likely, you would be lucky if u advance a day(in the game) in 4-5 hours(real time).can u tell us your computer configuration??

just choose 4,5,6 leagues not 20 because it takes so long.

u can only add players from certain countrys just by selecting the country from "load all players from"(or something like that).u can only load the players from many countrys without playing them.that might speed up your pc since those leagues are not playable.
thanks for your help. i tried it with all countries and it takes agessss so i cant be bothered with all that, so just gonna select some now lol

Yes atlantic smack, everything takes much longer, not just when you start it up, but that takes ages aswell.

when you load many countries,game must procces every single match in that leagues,so choose just that leagues you want to play.
there is a view-only mode,so it should load players but not the competition from that country.
It shouldn't really take that much longer. Obviously it will take longer, but not anything over the top.
