Runcorn Linnets - trying to play possession football in English lower leagues

I wanted to try to play control/attacking short passing possession style football (Spanish tiki- taka style football/ Dutch total football style). So I picked Runcorn Linnets at level 9 in English football league pyramid. I've just finished my first season got promoted to level 8 and just lost 85% first team players because they on amateur contacts, the board waited until nearly all players had left until turn the club from amateur to semi-professional!.
