Well, times come to take my experience to Serie B. From back to back champions league wins with LFC, Neymar, Bale, Holtby, my amazing full backs Razo and Muller, world club cups, premier leagues to a minus 2 point start and less than 1 million transfer budget, wish me luck!!

This is the tactic i will be using. I know it's against the trend on FM to force a tactic on a squad, but hey, one shouldn't always follow the rules. (Please ignore the players as I'm in the 4th Season at LFC in my other save but its the quickest way to post the tactic)

So, 1st match against my reserves. The above tactic. I selected all my players from 1st team and reserves and put them in the first team so that when both teams were picked (by my defensive coach) it would be as random as possible. I can see a few good players in the squad, but haven't spent any time looking at them yet. I'm just waiting for Tord Grip to sign on as my assistant manager so I can't yet see their current and potential 'Stars'. Tord has JPA and JPP of 18. So, should give me an insight into who to sell to raise money and who to keep.

Just thought I would share some screenshots of my tactic. I have created a tactic of a near perfect 'S' positionally which I believe gives me the tactical fluidity to cope with the best of teams. You will see that my players only shoot when in a scoring position and that I pass soooo much that I make my opponents dizzy (or it does in my head My RPO's are all on the wing where it is safe to do so.

The goal I conceded was an own goal scored from their half. Worrying. Some crazy back pass from inside their half went straight to onrushing goal keeper, Andrea Consigli. The goal was given to the GK, but it looked like it went straight in to me. Interesting.

I just know I'll get battered when the league starts. I brought in 3, 2 star old frees which I'd usually avoid but I've stripped my squad down and still only raised 2.6m. Zambrotta (RB), Simone Del Nero (AML), Lucas Castroman (AMR). I could sell some good players, but that wouldn't help with the cohesion in the squad. The loans have gone back. Hoping i can get enough for Ademilson but I doubt it. I've already bought Doria, although he doesn't come in for a while because of his age.

In 3 games so far, The 3 frees are on 8.90, 8.10 and 7.75.

It wont last. I'll get beaten up in the league. I'll need some luck this season.

Has anyone turned Adryan into a striker? Budget buy, backup in case i don't get Ademilson.

There is nothing to say a fixed tactic like this which doesn't get changed home or away, which worked with LFC will ever work with Atalanta. Lets hope it doesn't get too embarrassing when the league starts.

I'm hoping for maybe 16th in the league. I'll be lucky. I've bought Adryan, but like Doria he doesn't join me until January. Just offered a contact to Aleksandar Dragovic. Never heard of him before but looks so so for Atalanta. That will be all my money spent.

September Summary - Season 1

Tough start to the season as expected although I am pleased with how it's gone thus far.

It's going to be so hard. Tactics holding up well after buying a couple of defenders. My squad is very thin and i will get a few kickings but it could be worse

Mobious, use a 4-2-3-1 as I finished 4th in the Serie A with Siena. It proves to work perfectly and I recommend it because it makes the RB and LB take the best of it. Use Schelotto as RB

You did get to sign players in the first season, a luxury I couldn't afford. Forza Atalanta!
