I walked into the office. The Job had been up for grabs for a few weeks after the resignation of Jurgen Klopp for personal reasons. The chairman was sipping coffee as I entered. He had approached me about the job, due to my former skills as a player despite never dipping into the managerial hotseat. I sat down on the luxurious seats. The chairman addressed me "We believe you are the man to bring this club forward and make us a European powerhouse." I replied stating "What about the fans are you sure the will accept a former Bayern Munich player as manager" The chairman retorted saying "If you get the results, they won't care who you used to play for Oliver." We quickly drew up a contract worth £26,500 untill June 2016. And that is how I, Oliver Rolf Kahn, was appointed manager of Borussia Dortmund.

Great start m8. I would love to see some screenshots but besides that the story is great. Hopefully you can retain the title. :D

I immediately offered players I considered to be deadwood to other clubs. This inclued players such as Ivan Perisic, Julian Schieber and Felipe Santana. Straight away an offer came in but not for one of the players I had offerred. Kevin Grosskreutz, who in my oppinion is a good player, was the man I received a transfer offer for. As soon as I saw it I thought "REJECT!" But when I had a closer look I saw it was an offer of £13,500,000 from Porto, a team I will never come up against except maybe in the Champions League. I considered my options and accepted the offer so I could get money to bring in a certain young striker I had in mind.

So, Grosskreutz did leave and the fans were quite chuffed that I had managed to acquire £13,500,000 for him. Then just a few days later the striker I had wanted arrived for a fee of £8,000,000. Dentinho of Shakhtar Donetsk joined the club on 11th July 2012 as understudy and potential successor of Robert Lewandowski, I thought he was a bargain for £8,000,000 as I feel he can develop into a top notch player.

Pre Season – Part 1

Pre season started terribly for Dortmund. I handed over all friendlies to my Assistant manager and he proceeded to lose the first 3 friendlies of my training camp in Austria.
These games were against far inferior opposition that he really should have been beating, so I called him to my office for showdown talks.

OK – Oliver Kahn (Me)
ZB – Zeljko Buvac (Assistant Manger)

OK – Zeljko, this is unacceptable. I left you in charge of 3 friendlies against teams not even a quarter as good as us and you go and lose not just one but all 3?! I cannot believe you could let this happen

ZB – May I say that most of the first team, including Marco Reus, Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels still had not returned from their holidays so I was playing with a considerably weaker team.

OK – I don’t care about your excuses! You’re fired!

ZB – But…

OK – No buts get out of this office and don’t come back.

Zeljko was not the only member of the staff who lost his job though. I fired all but 4 members of the staff, to make way for my own choices as I felt they were incompetent and under qualified to be at as big a club as Borussia Dortmund.
Good luck, can't wait to see how this turns out. Would love to see Dortmund succeed, and the use of the kids makes it even more interesting. Hope it turns out well :)

Pre Season Part 2-A new Assistant

Due to the firing of Zeljko and pretty much the rest of the backroom staff, I was faced with the task of finding potential new staff to fill their places. My priority was an assistant manager. I invited three men along to an interview, these three men were Ray Wilkins, Johan Cruijf and an old teammate of mine Willy Sagnol. But there was a twist to the interview process. I was going to interview all 3 men at the same time and let them fight it out for the place. There were 3 main things I was looking for in a potential assistant. These were credentials/qualifications, Ambition and desire.

I had just finished going over all 3 men’s credentials when my secretary told me they had arrived. The entered the room and I shook hands with them all and we got down to business.

OK – Me
WS – Willy Sagnol
JC – Johan Cruijff
RW – Ray Wilkins

OK – Good morning. I would like to kick this off by finding out why each one of you think you deserve the job over the other two.

WS – I deserve the job as I am hardworking and will doing anything you want me to do. I may not have the experience as an assistant manager but I will bring fresh new ideas to the table.

RW – I had the experience of being assistant manager at a side who are one of the top teams in Europe. Myself and Johan have experience in a non playing career however I feel I am more hardworking and loyal than Johan will ever be.

JC – I disagree with that completely. My credentials speak for themselves and my role in the backroom staff at Barcelona proves I am the right man for the job.

OK – Thank you, next I was wondering if you would state how you feel the club should move forward?

WS – I feel we should be aiming to reach at least the semi finals of the Champions League and win the Bundesliga.

RW – I think the season would be deemed a failure if we didn’t reach the final of the champions league.

JC – Come on guys, be realistic! We should be aiming for the top 2 in the Bundesliga and attempt to get to the quarter final of the Champions League.

OK – Thanks for your time I will contact you in the next couple of days on whether you have been successful.

Pre-Season Part 3 - Unveiling of the Assistant

3 days, 25 cups of coffee and hours of deliberation later…

OK – Me
J – Journalist

OK – I have called this press conference to unveil the man who is going to replace Zeljko Buvac as my assistant manager. It took me a while to decide but I have reached my decision. The new Assistant Manager of Borussia Dortmund and the man I feel will benefit the club the most is………Mr Johan Cruijff! I will just invite Johan into the room.

Johan Cruijff (JC) – I would like to thank Oliver for appointing me as his new assistant. I applied for the job after hearing of Oliver’s aspirations to make this club great by using youth as well as experience and due to the fact that he is open to new concepts and ideas. I cannot wait to start.

J – Johan, what qualities do you feel you can bring to Borussia Dortmund?

JC – I feel I will be able to help out Oliver in all ways possible including taking control of friendlies and winning them. I hope my determination and loyalty is noted by the fans and I hope to be at this club for many years to come and help Oliver’s vision become a reality.

J directed at OK – After getting rid of a large number of your backroom staff are you considering bringing in any other new members of staff.

OK – Yes I will be however I am not at liberty to give out any names.

J – Finally what led you to choose Johan as our new assistant?

OK – I picked Johan as I saw myself in him. He is open to new ideas and willing to do whatever is necessary. Also he is a very determined man and a fellow I feel has the attributes to succeed in whatever he does, whether it be managing friendlies or sorting out the players training regimes.

OK – That is all we have time for. Good Night.

This was the club's common phenomenon. The club's coach retired, and some club coaches were replaced.
Great story Nathaniel.. Continue it and I will give you TWO cookies..
