I have Nicolas Audren with Wolves and he has been described after a game as a wonderkid. Is there any other way to know if one of your players has become a wonderkid?

yes, go to a players Reports screen, in the top right where it shows their positions they can play in, it should say "Wonderkid" or "promising defender" or something like that.
