Beckham: RVP Can Lead To Glory
Footballing legend, and ex Manchester United star, David Beckham has suggested that new striker Robin van Persie can lead the club to glory this year, with their first league game coming up in the next few days.
Robin van Persie scored 2 of the 5 goals scored in pre-season, even while rotating from the bench every game. van Persie was signed in 2012 under the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson for £24 million from rivals Arsenal.
David Beckham recently attended a press conference about his future in football, in which he stated a return to Manchester as a player or staff member is always possible. He also said that the current attackers at Manchester United are exceptional, with Rooney, van Persie, Hernandez and Welbeck already being class players, and a lot of potential could soon arrive. Beckham also linked the 4 to the 4 strikers used when United won the treble in 1999. David also thought Henriquez, Bakkali, Fierro and King also have the potential to be 4 of the best ever together.
David Beckham played for Manchester United for 10 years in 1993 until 2003 after coming through the ranks at the club. In those 10 years he played 265 games scoring 62 goals, including the infamous long distance goal vs Wimbledon.
