Highlights: Leeds United vs. Manchester United

The War of the Roses was refueled after Joshua Sykes' Leeds United beat arch-rivals Manchester United in a thrilling match-up, making it Leeds' first league win against Manchester United in TEN YEARS. Andy Carroll opened the score in the first minute of the game with a finesse finish, Man Utd's Rafael the fault of giving away posession. Danny Rose made it two-nil after thirty-three minutes from a corner, Leeds clearly had the upper-hand. In the second half Wayne Rooney saw his second yellow card and was sent off, eleven minutes later the Flying Dutchman Robin van Persie pulled one back, but it wasnt enough for the Manchester side. Eight yellow cards were dished out against Sir Alex Ferguson's battling Red's which merits them a fine from the F.A. Final score, 2-1 to the home side who have one-upped their rivals after thirteen years.

Typical FM. Like the matches where you're whitewashing a team 5-0 at half-time, but dont score in the second half.

Great first season, you've been unlucky with your fixtures so far this season. Your win against Man Utd showas that you have class, it shows that there is only one team called United :P

October, 2013

Only three-matches this month but Leeds United scored eight and conceded six to win two out of the three. Leeds had a score to settle against Norwich City as they were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by a one-nil defeat and finished in style with a four-one win at Carrow Road. Despite being outclassed by an ambitious Tottenham side, the Whites came back and beat Wigan Athletic 3-1 at Elland Road.

Match results:

[PRM] Norwich City 1 - 4 Leeds United
[PRM] Tottenham Hotspur 4 - 1 Leeds United
[PRM] Leeds United 3 - 1 Wigan Athletic

November, 2013

Considering they are the new boys in the Premier League this season, Leeds United have been stable but for the calibre of players available, their performances may not be good enough for Ken Bates. A two-two home draw against Chelsea surely pleased the fans and a sweet birthday present for Joshua Sykes as his team beat Everton at Elland road in a thrilling three-two score.

Match results:

[PRM] Leeds United 2 - 2 Chelsea
[PRM] Newcastle United 1 - 1 Leeds United
[PRM] West Bromwich Albion 1 - 1 Leeds United
[PRM] Leeds United 2 - 4 Manchester City
[PRM] Leeds United 3 - 2 Everton

Manager's blog, November

We seem to be picking it up a little now. We actually took a 2-1 lead against Chelsea at one point, I guess it was just one of those games. Very pleased to celebrate my birthday with a fight-back against Everton, more so at home. Ive adapted the squad to play a very counter-attacking approach to all opponents. The squad play very fluid, very strong training in team cohesion and counter-attacking football is helping the squad progress. Early days, but Im enjoying the Premier League so far.

December, 2013

Leeds United manager Joshua Sykes can be no more than thrilled as his side won five of the six festive games, the only defeat was to Arsenal after the Gunners made a comeback from a two-goal deficit. For a team who just made the climb from the Championship, they can certainly be proud of their league standing this month.

Match results:

[PRM] Reading 0 - 1 Leeds United
[PRM] Leeds United 2 - 1 Stoke City
[PRM] Leeds United 3 - 2 Southampton
[PRM] Arsenal 5 - 3 Leeds United
[PRM] Leeds United 1 - 0 Fulham
[PRM] Leeds United 5 - 0 Sunderland

- Manager's blog, December.

Festive period was great. I can even say losing 5-3 to Arsenal was a great performance. We were 2-0 and looked comfortable, tired legs that couldnt match the strength of the Londoners but all to be desired. Very pleased with how the team is responding to my targets. Its all paying off right now.
