Im with East Sterlingshire in the SPL and the youth Player in take is terrible i only get useless Scottish players with 1 star potential and i have scouts all over the world, why is this?
You have to have a good Youth Recruitment Network or you will get rubbish players.

Your scouting network only identifys players you can buy, it doesnt influence what players get inducted into your youth team as regens/newgens.

Like Blue said, get your board to increase the funding to your youth recruitment network, if they agree it takes effect immediately, but try to do it before your youth intake. At Newcastle United ive managed to upgrade my youth recruitment network twice inside a year. You will need to emphasise to your board quite heavily that you need to recruit your own youngsters and they should accept the request. Also i hear your youth staff, facilities and club popularity all have effects on what players get inducted and from where in the country.

At newcastle i think i managed to get a player inducted from london, that was the furthest, but most of my players always came from the local north east area. so your problem may also be teams like Celtic, Rangers and Falkirk stealing your potential young players as from recollection those three teams have very good youth recruitment networks and they arent far location wise from Sterling.
I just got my youth intake with Sporting, and as we know they have a good youth academy in real life, producing players like Figo, Ronaldo, and Moutinho (I think) amongst many others.

Here are my best three regens I got:

Ive just had my newgens at Newcastle last night, and i am starting to notice a bit of a pattern, it may just be coincidence though....

In my first year, i had rubbish newgens, 2nd year, i had 2 awesome wonderkids, 3rd year (now) i have rubbish again.

I then look at other sides like Man Utd, Arsenal, Southampton, Paris St Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barca, etc

Generally, in the 3 game years ive played on my Newcastle save, it seems to do the following on all teams:

Rubbish newgens, great newgens, rubbish, great, rubbish, great, etc (or start with great newgens then go rubbish the following year and so on)

All the top teams that had awesome newgens the previous year then get rubbish the following year and vice versa.

I am also starting to notice that it may also be country related, as in my first year Germany, France, Holland and Italy all produced great newgens, then the 2nd year they did/or didnt (the opposite of the 1st year), 3rd year the opposite again.

Does anyone else notice this pattern ?

On the area though, i searched all newgens, and all of the good players born in the newcastle area generally ended up in my youth team (sunderland and mboro got naff all talent as my youth recruitment network is better than theirs). but i didnt end up with any players outside the newcastle area, so now im wondering how is it possible to say attract players from Wales, Scotland or Ireland to be inducted? As for some reason Chelsea always seem to get at least one scottish player, man utd seem to get one welsh and one scottish, etc and ive checked the players and they arent showing as fans of those clubs.
