Month Report

An amazing month for the team.
We could always reach the victory and sometimes in very hard games.
The Champions League draw was really unfriendly, after the big favorites Barcelona and Real Madrid had been sent out of the competition, Machester City and United are now the favorites, and we go against City when there was teams like Dinamo Kiev, Sporting CP or FC Porto in the draw.
At the Italian Cup we reach the final and we will face Juventus.

Month Report

Not always we get the pretended results but we still with the advantage that we want for the last 3 games. We need more 6 points to get the title, and I hope we can do that in the next 2 games.
In Champions League we were sent out by Manchester City as I expected but I'm proud of the team, they fight hard for a better result and they did a good job.
Next month we will face Chievo away, Lazio at home and Genoa away for the Serie A, and the last game of the season against Juventus for the Italian Cup title.

Season Report

We had some great winnings this year, the team was doing very good performances and the results are very nice. The European Supercup was a good trophy to start the season, and it have make us believe that we could celebrate more in the future.
In Champions League we did nice results after the bad beggining, then at the quarter final we have believe we can do better after the win in Manchester, but the goal in the beggining of the extra time in the second leg let us completely out, we had been unable to get into the game again for a better result.
Serie A was amazing. We did some great results against the big teams, and we had taken the lead of the table and keeps it till the end. We were champions in the home game against Lazio, it was a very nice party in our own stadium.
The Italian Cup winning was amazing after the great performance in the final. The large score let us we a great felling about that game.

Cavani is European Golden Boot

Edinson Cavani is for the second time in a row the winner of the European Golden Boot trophy. This year Cavani played 33 games for the Serie A and scored by 31 times, making a pontuation of 62.00. Cavani have scored more goal than last year when he scored 24 goals. That's a deserved trophy, and shows how much important is Cavani for our team.

New season beggining

Jack White arrives yesterday to Napoli where he meets the Direction of the club. The press says that this meeting was important for the coach and for the team to know where can this team go in the next year.
Last year Napoli get some titles that nobody expected, and the question is ... will Napoli still that strong?
The pre-season is almost in beggining and the Napoli supporters are living an old dream, they are the Italian Champions. They didn't win the title for long 24 years, and now they can say with pround that they did it, they are the champions again.
Napoli will try to get, for the first time in his history, the second italian championship in a row, and Jack White is confident that they can do it, as he show in the first press conference of the season.
The team is conquering a good place into the top italian teams, and some people believe that they can still growing up and reach a level that the club have never been.

Journalist - The transfers market is open now. There are rumors that Napoli will announce some new faces this year, what can you tell about it?
Jack White - We are working on this. For now is to soon to say something with sure, but probably we will see some arrivals and departures in the next times.

J - Inter and Napoli have 50% of Federico Fernández contract, and this year the player will go for the team which gives a better proposal for the 50% part of the other team, will you try to keep him on Napoli?
JW - We will make an offer, and I would like to keep him here yes, but just on the time we all will know what happen with him.

J - What are the most important competitions this year for Napoli.
JW - Obviously Serie A and Champions League.

J - And where you think you can go in both competitions?
JW - We absolutely want to win again the championship, and we are confident we can do it if we work like last year. In Champions League I think is more about luck, if we get the little luck we didn't have last year we can reach a better place, but it is a very hard task to reach the last rounds, but if we get there we know we can do something great.

J - Alessandro Gamberini and Hugo Campagnaro announce their retirement in the end of the season (2014/2015), will you try already this year get new players for the position?
JW - Well, I know I can count with them this year and this is the most important for now, about the future we can talk later.

J - The Supercup game will be the first officially game of the season, against Juventus, and Napoli will play at home in San Paolo. Is it and important trophy for you?
JW - Usually that will not be an important trophy. But since we will play home, with our own supporters in the crowd, of course we want very much the title to party again with our people.

Transfer Market

This year Napoli decided to improve the back ups of the team. After know that the budget for the market would not be very large, Jack White tried to bring some good players for some positions where we didn't have very much trust in the second choices.
We have felt very much more difficulties on the games when we got injuries in the starting eleven, and when we got some red card that unable a principal player to play for some games. So I hope that increase the positions gave us more stability, mainly in the league.

In the first day of market Napoli and Inter had to make a offer for the 50% of Federico Fernández that we both had. Napoli offer €2,2M, but Inter offer €3,2M and they get Fernández and we need another central back.
Some days later it was the time of Donadel get ouf of the team, Empoli offer €3M for him, and he get for the recently promoted team.
Dossena, the Insúa back up, in the left defense ends the contract with Napoli and get out of the club.

The first signin for Napoli this year, was a very disputed player. Juventus, Napoli and Inter offer €8,5M for him, but he signs Napoli after some days thinking. He's Mattia Destro and it was one player I wanted to sign because we will need a good back up for Cavani, because this is one of the positions we most are not succeed when Cavani is out.
After Donadel leaving, Napoli had to bring another player for the position. Jack White was searching for someone better that could make part of the Napoli future plans, but he end up signing with Oriol Romeo by loan, from Chelsea.
To replace Dossena, Napoli decided to bring Roberto Canella from Sp.Gijón. He costs €4M to Napoli, and he will be the Insúa back up, just as Dossena was.
In the other side of the defense, Jack White bring a young portuguese player to make the back up for Maggio. Cédric Soares, signin for Napoli, and he costs €1,5M.
The last and most expensive signin was for a central back. After last year Napoli signin Shawcross for €22M, this year Napoli buy again a player for the central defense by more than €20M. He come from Cagliari and he costs €21,5M. He's name is Davide Astori, and will share the central back places with Shawcross, Cannavaro and Gamberini.
Napoli have now probably, one of the most expensive central back investiments in the last years in Europe.

Starting Eleven:
Napoli - Patrício, Maggio, Shawcross, Cannavaro, Insúa, Kara, Witsel, Hamsik, Insigne, Griezmann and Cavani
Juventus - Buffon, Dedé, Barzagli, Chiellini, Giaccherini, Mulumbu, Marchisio, Vidaç, Asamoah, Vucinic and Quagliarella

0' - The game starts.
6' - Big danger! Marchisio shots at 30 meters and Patrício woth a brilliant save to corner.
10' - Well played by Napoli. Griezmann going in the left, cross to the second post where Insigne touchs for Cavani, but a great tackle by Barzagli stops the Cavani shot.
17' - Again Griezmann in the left crossing for the area, where Cavani heads up for the inside of the net. 1-0 to Napoli!
28' - Amazing Griezmann dribbling 3 Juventus players, going almost to the post and then give the ball to Insigne who is in the opposite side and completely free of opponents and just touch to the goal. 2-0 to Napoli!
32' - Giaccherini do a brilliant job, cross to the area and Asamoah shots very strongly for the goal. 2-1, Juventus reduce!
34' - What an opportunity. Corner kick for Juventus, and Matri higher than everybody else heads up, and almost get the goal.
41' - Great save by Buffon after Cannavaro wins the ball in the air after a corner kick.
Half Time!
Napoli have been better, but the score with just one goal of advantage is to dangerous. Juventus had luck in the first half and can still dream with the title.
45' - The game restart!
52' - The teams are very close to each other in this second half. Juventus has more ball, and Napoli more shots.
69' - Witsel doing an amazing job, gives the ball to Cavani, he dribles one defender and he got space for the shot ... he shot and Buffon with another amazing save! But the ball still in the area, Griezmann will reach the ball first, and he did it, he shots for the third goal! Buffon was still getting up and the ball was already inside the net. 3-1 to Napoli!
73' - Good chance for Juventus, after Matri shots and Patricio saves the ball almost end in Quagliarella but Shawcross clean the area and start a Napoli attack.
Full Time!
Good job of Napoli always had the lead and did a great game against a very hard team. Griezmann is the man of the match with 1 goal and 2 assists, what a performance from the french man.
