The R’s pre season games where inconsistent as expected.
Pat Gilroy had admired the tactics of Jurgen Klopps Dortmund and is trying to replicate that with QPR, adding his own touches.
With a 2-1 win against Serie A Champions Juventus but also a 1-2 loss to Cheltenham & Sheffield Wednesday, it shows that when this QPR team do preform they can be excellent.
Gilroy knows that it will take time for the team to gel but when they do they will become an on stoppable force in the Premier League, he also believes that the team he is trying to create will succeed the ambitions the chairman has.
Gilroy has been trying to get rid of the deadwood at QPR, getting rid of some old names that are on massive wages for the club.
The biggest departure was that of Nedum Onuoha, making the switch to Newcastle for a fee of £4 million.
Pat Gilroy has said that he is still looking to add to his squad, he’s been speaking of his desire to sign a homegrown centre back and also another striker to bolster his attack line. With a transfer budget of £4 million left he could still swoop up some bargins.
One player that has changed Gilroy’s thoughts completely was Bobby Zamora, who Gilroy thought had no chance in his future squad until he witnessed Zamora’s pre season display.
