The Rise of Tottenham Hotspur FC

Hello! I'm Yid0Dan and this is my first time posting, but not my first time playing Football Manager, believe me... no seriously, I'm freakin' obsessed.

Anyway, I have been a Spurs supporter for who knows how long now- maybe since about three years old? I always manage them on FM, but often don't do that great and end up fourth at the most. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with fourth but I want to go bigger. I'm thinking Champions of Europe, Premier League champs etc, so I am going to be posting a monthly review of my management with Tottenham Hotspur.

So, why do you support Spurs?

Alot of my friends ask me this. They're all like 'ew, why do you support Spurs?' and (I can't even count how many times I've said this), it's because of the loyalty the legends have to the club. It's the fans, how we all unite and interact with each other. How we all get along. How we make new friends at matches. But most of all, how passionate we all are for Spurs. I have no disrespect to Arsenal fans, but I dislike Arsenal as a club because I don't feel they have that chemistry that most clubs do.
At Spurs, we stick by our players. We support them. When we go down 1-0, we're still singing, but at Arsenal, if things aren't exactly perfect then the winging starts, and the rants about Wenger about how he should be sacked, but come on- Arsenal would be a mid-table club without Wenger.

Anyway, enough of that. Please give my story a go- I'm new to this, so it may not be the best, but I'm planning on including news reports, etc etc, and making it more than just updates on my game.

Who will take over at Spurs?

There is alot of speculation to who will take Andre Villas-Boas' job at White Hart Lane as Tottenham Hotspur manager. We at Sky Sports have put together a group of likely managers, who are bookies favourites to take charge.

The forty two year old ex-Chelsea player and manager left Stanford Bridge after being knocked out of the Champions League, just after winning it the previous year.
Despite his Champions League failure, many Chelsea fans would agree that overall Di Matteo did a fantastic job at Chelsea, and did not deserve the sack. With Di Matteo still looking for a job, and Daniel Levy a keen admirer, could this be the match that Spurs fans are waiting for?

David Moyes



Moyes was favourite to become the Spurs manager in the first place, but AVB just snatched it off of him. With Villas-Boas not working out, will Levy turn to Moyes to get Spurs into Champions League football?

Jurgen Klinsmann



Though unlikely, Klinsmann would be the dream manager for Spurs fans everywhere, given his legendary status at the club. It would be a sight for sore eyes for grieving Spurs fans who are upset about failing to make Champions League. Will Levy turn to an ex-player and Tottenham legend? More to the point, would Klinsmann give up his USA National post for the Spurs job?

I get out of my Lexus car, parked neatly into a space in the corner. It's nothing compared to some of the player's cars.
Everything seems perfect. I can hear the players calling for the ball on the training ground. Hard working lads. I like.
I wonder how I came across this. How this happened. How someone like me was given such a huge opportunity. And, most of all, I wonder how I haven't broken down with excitement yet. No one expects it. There will be protests- I am prepared for it, because no one will be happy about this. I pull out a piece of folded paper from the passenger seat of my car. It's all signed. All done. I'm ready to start. Slowly, I make my way into the training ground.

I approach the office cautiously. I tap on the door, and stick my head in.

???: Come in.

I walk in, and take seat at the oposite side of the desk. Levy sits oposite me, frowning, questioning his choice.

Levy: You are ready to announce this to the media?
Me: Yes.
Levy frowns at me.
Levy: I will recieve a great deal of grief from this, Daniel, I hope you realise this.
I lean forward.
Me: You should have faith in me. We share first names.
I wink at him, and I see something of a smile.
Levy: Don't let me down, Daniel, alot is riding on this. I may be sacked myself If this is a mistake.
Me: Trust me, Mr Levy. I know what I'm doing.
Levy seems reassured.
Levy: I will alert the media.
As I go to walk out, he coughs to get my attention.
Levy: Call me Daniel, Daniel.

"You should have faith in me. We share first names."

If I was Levy, would have hired him there and then without questions.

LEVY'S LOST IT AS UNKNOWN MANAGER TAKES OVER AT SPURS

Today saw the appointment of unknown Essex boy Daniel Watkins become manager of Tottenham Hotspur. Fans took to Twitter to express their anger and discontent.

@Yid_Gary: "Who the hell is the new gaffa? Anyone ever heard of him before? #levyuidiot"

@James_Yack: "Levy, you've done it now. Who is this guy?"

@Martin_Spurs_Lad: "Daniel who? I give him a month."

Meanwhile, Spurs striker Adebayor crustiest the appointment, whilst Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale welcomed the new manager.

@E_Adebayor: "Not happy about this new gaffa. Getting frustrated now."

@GarethBale11: "Welcome Dan to the club. Hope he does well.'

@IAmJermainDefoe: "New gaffa looks promising."

@Aaron7Lennon: "Good luck gaffa. Deserves the fans support."

I hear a knock at my office door.

Me: Come in.

Emmanuel Adebayor walks into my office- he seems angry, stressed- the way he stomps forward and sits into the chair oposite my computer, uninvited.

Me: Can I help you, Emmanuel?

My voice is strained. He notices. I can tell as he raises his eyebrows.

Adebayor: Steffen told me that I'm not in your plans for the first team.
Me: Yes, I told him to deliver the news to you.
Adebayor snorts.
Adebayor: You think I'm not good enough?
Me: You are a decent player, but you have an awful attitude. Your ability is not worth your attitude. I plan on keeping you out of the first team until your attitude improves.
The shock on Adebayor's face amuses me.
Adebayor: I'm not interested in staying at Spurs.
I smile at him.
Me: Is this a transfer request?
He nods fiercly, as though waiting for a bad reaction from me.
Me: Then we are done here. You may go.
He doesn't leave straight away. But then, realising I am done on the subject, he stands up, scowls at me, and leaves.

Bale enters my office next. I think he was outside, listening- waiting. My attitude is much more cheerful towards him.

Me: Hello, Gareth.
Bale: Hi, Dan. I'm just here to talk about transfers.
My heart begins to pound against my chest.
Me: You want to move?
Bale: Oh no! Not at all!
My heart calms.
Bale: I just wanted to let you know that I'm not interested in moving, so if any offers come in, don't feel like you have to accept it because maybe I want to move. Because I don't.
I smile at him.
Me: The fans would love to hear you say that.
Bale shakes his head.
Bale: No, I think we should keep this between us.
I nod at him. He stands, smiles at me, and leaves.

ADEBAYOR TO LEAVE SPURS DUE TO BULLY BOSS?

In a shock turn of events, Emmanuel Adebayor has been transfer listed at Tottenham, with teams such as QPR, Swansea, Inter Milan and even Valencia interested in his services.

Dan Watkins was reluctant, yet rather calm towards us when questioned.

'Could you explain the situation between Adebayor and yourself?' Our reporter asked.

'I think at the moment it is best if I keep the circumstances behind Emmanuel's transfer listing to myself for now,' said Watkins, with a cheeky smile. 'I still owe him respect and intend to give that to him.'

Emannuel Adebayor, however, was more than willing to 'let slip' the argument that sparked in Watkins' office.

'From day one, Watkins has been like a school bully towards me,' said Adebayor fiercely. 'He made everyone very aware I was not needed, and he would be very tough on me. I decided it was time for a change. I demanded a transfer request.'

Is Watkins really the 'bully boss' Adebayor says he is?

I hear that familiar angry knock on my office door. As I invite Adebayor in, I don't offer him that smile that I give to everyone else. But I am not angry. I am dissapointed.

Me: Good morning, Emannuel.

He does not reply.

Me: You lied to the press, Emannuel. Care to explain?

He does not look me in the eye. He stares down into his lap.

I shuffle uncomfortably in my seat.

Me: We have had our differences, Emannuel but you have taken this too far and I intend to alert the press to save what the fans think of my personality. I am no bully, Emmanuel.

Adebayor: I want to leave this club. Now.

Me: If you're suggesting I release you on mutal contract termination then you are very much mistaken.

My voice is stern. He feels my disappointment turn to anger. I take a deep breath.

Me: You will remain at Tottenham Hotspur until I can sell you for a reasonable price to replace you with a player who will respect me, and who I will have the mental ability to respect.

Adebayor shakes his head gently and smiles, looking up at the ceiling.

Me: If something is funny, Emmanuel, why don't you share it with your teammates who are very annoyed at you for what you have done. They have stuck up for me, Emmanuel, they have spoken to the press. Those are the players I want at the club. People that can be more than my players, but my friends too.

There is silence among us.

Me: Return to training, Emmanuel. We are done here.

Very entertaining stuff! Getting rid of Adebayor is usually high on my priorities list with Spurs. Ridiculous wages and a shitty attitude!Emmanuel Emmineke (Not sure on the spelling there) is a good replacement for around 12 million, I think.
