My Name is Verdan Lukic

I was born on the seventh of April in 1981 in the Serb city of Subotica where I have remained my entire life, save a few holidays. I remember as a child, perhaps 6 years old, venturing to my first football game (to my knowledge, at least) to see the mighty FK Spartak, a team widely known as the second most successful team in Serbia.
From then on, my love of football could only grow.

I was good at football, and I quickly made it in to the world of sport, playing sunday-league in my teen years, but I knew I could not rely on football alone, so I trained in Business.

When adulthood dawned, I bagged myself a job in some retail company, where I earned a good pay, and good spare time. On the days I did not work, I played. I became very good, but, unfortunately not as good as some.

At my best, I played in the third tier in Serbia. Near the end of my career, I had made my way up in to the second league, but I never clinched a full contract, ending up back in the semi-pro leagues once again.

I became very tactically skilled, and led my team as a captain for several months before taking over as player-coach. I earned them promotion to the second division, when I retired from football to focus on my real job.

The year I had away from football was hard, I was missing out, and I knew somehow, I had to find a way back in, be it management, coaching, scouting, whatever.

It was my ambition, for the first time to travel outside of Serbia and become a manager in the big leagues- Italy, France, Spain, Germany- England. Yes, England would be my destination, first I would train as a coach, then, perhaps, I could begin my career in the none-leagues.

Dons Manager announces departure

This morning AFC Wimbledon manager Terry Brown gathered with press to announce that he will not be renewing his contract after it expires in June. He told media that his decision had been a one that had developed over time and that he had achieved his ambitions at the club by earning them promotion out of the none leagues.

He was joined in this interview by none other than ex-Wimbledon legend Vinnie Jones who has since made a very reputable name for himself in an acting career. It was revealed prior to Brown's announcement that Jones had chosen to buy a large share of the Dons, and was chosen by the fans as a representative, as their chairman.

Jones was pleased at the scenario, and wished Brown a warm farewell after everything he had done for the club. "Terry has done magnificent work for Wimbledon, he will always be an Icon here and I, and all of the staff wish him the best of luck in whatever he chooses to do next."

Brown himself, was equally positive, and dispelled rumours that he had left the club to stay away from conflict.
"The one and only reason I have chosen to step down, is that I feel my time is over here. I admit, I could do some more good work here, but my ambition was to bring the Dons up out of the none-leagues. I have done that, and now that my personal target is completed, there is nothing else that I need to do. I will leave that to someone else."
