can't install genie13g_setup_340.zip

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with installing genie13g_setup_340.zip. Eugene mailed it to me and I installed it in the genie folder and I used my key. When it said it was Ok it installed and the told me there is a new version available.
This can't be correct. Could someone please explain exactly how to install this please. I am not computer literate at all so please be clear.

there are 2 options
both require 7zip
1:
you save the file on your computer.
then right click on the file and go to 7-zip it will unfold a few options
choose extract here or extract to and then the name of the download
after its extracted start the installation
when its finished place you key file in the installation folder and you should be ready to go

2:
instead of saving the file open it
then double click on the .exe file
it will start the installation
afterwards place the key in the installation folder

Just to be sure right click on genie scout 13g and then properties, compatability, run as admin
then apply and try to start GS and see what happends

Thank you for the swift response. I did all those things but they didn't work. When I tell 7zip to 'extract here' it tells me it can't open it. size on disc is 5.13 MB. Clearly this is patch or update.
Do I need to uninstall the older 13g and then reinstall? But then, the new file is too small I think.

You should download it again. The size should be around 20 Mb.
