A bit of a mixed month there but it did seem to get better as it went on. Glad you managed to get past Tranmere and they didn't become a "giant killer". A great read so far, keep it up.

Post-Newcastles victory, sweeping AZ Alkmaar aside 5-2 on aggregate, they face their second Russian opponent of the competition, Anzhi Makhachkala, next month.

FA Cup Dream End

Following the surprise defeat to the hands of West Brom, Newcastle have been knocked out of the FA cup, meaning they can only win one local cup this year.

CAPITAL ONE CUP FINAL 2012/13

Thousands of Geordies have made their way down to London on this surprisingly warm Winter afternoon to meet with the Gunners, who some could say have almost a 'home advantage' as the Emirates Stadium only lies 3 miles away from Wembley, the stadium where around 90,000 eager fans will watch the final today. We will provide live updates to the match.

0' The players walk on to the pitch, evidently nervous. Arsenal will kick this one off. The Captains shake hands and Rosicky places the ball down to start the game.

9' Albiol recieves the ball under-pressure, several players circling in on him. Guiterrez slides in, a perfect tackle. The ball drops in to Cisse's control, he has a decent chance-

10' PAPISS CISSE! Cuts it in from far out! Fabianski was never going to save that!

13' Cabaye gets the ball and begins a run up the center, he is looking for a pass- Ohhh! Wilshere runs in and puts his studs in to Cabaye's leg! The Referee takes out the red without thinking twice.

36' Gutierrez up the wing... he knocks it past the full-back and drills it in to the box... Cisse on the header- Oooo, just wide... Whats this? Cisse is down. Looks like he needs Medical Attention.

38' Cisse isn't getting back up. Steve Harminson is gesturing over the eager Shola Ameobi who is removing his jacket and warming up.

70' Santon puts it on the overlap to Ayew, he boosts up with pure speed to the corner where he hammers it in... Sissoko gets his head on it.. and... GOAL! The ball drifted in! 2-0!

86' Shola Ameobi is inside the box, is this a chance? OH, it hammers off the crossbar and lands in a cluster- Ayew tries for a second shot, and the Keeper spills it- Debuchy collects it and HAMMERS IT AWAY! GOAL! HIS FIRST EVER FOR NEWCASTLE! THEY ARE UNDOUBTEDLY THE WINNERS HERE!

89' Sissoko has been named man of the match following his sublime performance today, well deserved.

90+3' The game end with Newcastle beyond-a-doubt the better side. The staff and subs sprint on to the pitch and as well as a few fans. They look jubilant!
