I love Umberto!

A lost talent

Serge Gnabry and Arsenal FC have agreed to mutually terminated the contract of the 23 year old German. The youngster was said to have demanded first team football, rather forcefully from Thierry Henry. Instead of that, Henry opted to send him out on loan where he could play first team football for another side and possibly come back to Arsenal and fight for a first team position. Gnabry refused this and decided he wouldn't turn up for training sessions. As all club's would do, Gnabry was fined one weeks wages and Arsenal offered to terminate his contract but only if he agreed, to which he did. Arsenal have now paid Gnabry 140 k as part of the termination of his contract.

The German joined Arsenal in 2010 from Stuggart as a 16 year old wonder-kid, for a fee of 100k. He was rated highly at Arsenal and by other clubs such as Barcelona and Bayern. Many thought Gnabry along side with the likes of Oxlade Chamberlain and Wilshere, would be the future for Arsenal. Unfortunately for him, it didn't end that way. He was the star of the U18 team but failed to really break into the first team only making one appearance in the eight years he spent at the club. Next up for Gnabry would be consecutive unsuccessful loans and finally the mutually termination of his contract.

Serge Gnabry,is a typical example of how so many highly rated wonder kids fail to really shine and prove their talent to the maximum. These players end up being looked down upon by the bigger clubs. Arsenal have wished Serge Gnabry all the best with his future now he's a free agent. Should Gnabry have been a little more patient, or were Arsenal wrong to refuse him first team football?

Umberto in dreamland

Arsenal striker Umberto Postiglione has spoken proudly to F1 the french channel about making his national debut against Switzerland last night. The 22 year old has proved to be a brilliant signing for Arsenal recently, scoring goals for fun and being awarded the October player of the month. The national manager of France, Lucien Favre who is actually Swiss, decided he would reward Umberto with a call up and ended up starting him.

Briefly on F1 Umberto talked about how proud he was and he was glad he moved to Arsenal, as they have made him a better player, here are his words translated into English, "It is a dream come true to finally make my debut for France. I'm eligible for both Italy and France but I've chosen to play for France. Me leaving PSG reserves and joining Arsenal has helped me as a player. I'm in good form and I hope to make more appearances."

Many people were confused when they turned on their TV to see Umberto playing for Francel, but as you can he cleared that up stating he is eligible for both great footballing nations but opted to play for France over Italy. Italy will suffer from this decision and may want to attempt to lure him away as Umberto is a smashing talent.

November fixtures & results

Emirates Stadium

2-0

Arsenal Starting Lineup: Butland, Jones, Asamoah, Sakho, Umtiti, Modric, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Moura, Lewandowski, Umberto

GOALS : Umberto (7,22)

MOTM : Umberto

Once against Umberto stole the show with his clinical finishing as we brushed away Cardiff City. Over the past few weeks are defense has been very solid and I hope we can keep it up.

Stade de Lumieres

0-1

Arsenal Starting Lineup: Butland, Jones, Asamoah, Sakho, Umtiti, Modric, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Lamela, Lewandowski, Umberto

GOALS : Lewandowski (77)

MOTM : Sakho

Yet another solid defensive performance from the team. Lyon really gave it their all in the second half but we withstood the pressure and got the victory.

Emirates Stadium

2-0

Arsenal Starting Lineup: Butland, Jones, Asamoah, Sakho, Umtiti, Modric, Mascherano, Chamberlain, Hughes, Lamela, Lewandowski

GOALS : Lewandowski (59), Ramsey (65)

MOTM : Mascherano

Stoke were very physical as usual. We had to make sure we kept cool and didn't get wound up by their dirty play. We did this and we got the three points and kept a clean sheet.

Upton Park

1-2

Arsenal Starting Lineup: Butland, Mascherano, Asamoah, Sakho, Umtiti, Cesc, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Lamela, Lewandowski, Umberto

GOALS : Chamberlain (26,63), Luke Hyam (47)

MOTM : Chamberlain

Alex was brilliant today! His pace and dribbling caused West Ham's defense serious problems. We conceded a goal but I'm not too concerned about that.

Etihad Stadium

2-3

Arsenal Starting Lineup: Butland, Jones, Asamoah, Sakho, Modric, Mascherano, Moura, Walcott, Lamela, Lewandowski, Umberto

GOALS : Umberto (28,38), Lewandowski (59), Dzeko (36,44)

MOTM : Dzeko

Dzeko may have gotten the MOTM award but the MOTM was clearly Umberto. In a game that was crucial to win to extend our lead at the top he scored two goals and picked up an assist. What a great player he is. We used this game to try out a formation with three defenders at the back.

Constantin Radulescu

1-3

Arsenal Starting Lineup: Butland, Jones, Asamoah, Sakho, Ramsey, Will Hughes, Chamberlain, Cesc, Lamela, Lewandowski, Umberto

GOALS : Cesc (pen21),Chamberlain(25), Lewandowski (67), Brie (45)

MOTM : Lamela

In the league we are still 1st place with 37 points, 5 points ahead of City with two games in hand. We're still unbeaten in the league.

Player of the Month

The Arsenal player of the month is.....ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI! It easily could have gone to Umberto as both netted four goals this month. Lewandowski has put in some great performances and has been tutoring younger players. A real role model.

Great form in all comps! Unbeaten in the league and some good updates mate

Umberto does it again

French striker Umberto Postilglione has proved a point to the world, as he has now scored 19 goals in 19 appearances following a very good month and Christmas for Arsenal. The 23 year old has been in superb form since joining the North London side. He has settled in very quickly and is now the main man when it comes to striking for the gunners.

Thierry Henry has publicly spoken about his delight with Umberto in recent weeks. He went on to say Umberto reminds him of himself when he use to play for the club. " Everybody loves Umberto, he is in fine form, scoring goals for fun and when it matters most. It kind of reminds me of myself a bit but I think Umberto could be even better, who knows?"

Arsenal have extended their unbeaten run in the league, as they went throughout December without losing a game. They have qualified for the semi final of the capital one cup and are tipped to one the cup, although they have Manchester United to get past before reaching the final. If Arsenal do go onto win the cup, it will be Henry's 19th trophy as a manager. He will be aiming to surpass Sir Alex's 36 trophies.

Here were Arsenal's fixture's, results and goal scorers in December:
