Tough pre-season.

The stags only played 2 pre season games and they were both tough, however the Npower league 2 team were actually facing 2 top Premier league sides. Mansfield were privileged to play both teams and received £400K from each friendly.

Controversy emerged as the Liverpool manager claimed that "Mansfield have never been a top team" and then went on and added "and never will be". Slated and shocked by this comment Brocklesby hit back, hard. He incited "We are coming from the bottom to the top, just like Swansea did, just like other teams did, and its hardly like Liverpool are a top team is it Brendan?!" "Now get out of my face, ill see you in 4 years, in the Premier league, if 'your' team are still there"

Npower league 2.

What a fantastic win for the stags, they are showing that they simply deserve a place in that league and are showing class enough to be in an even higher league than they are.
After the match Liam Brocklesby had a little something to say: "They are a great bunch of lads but the team deserve to be higher, Leauge 1, the Championship, we should be in the same league as the likes of Notts county, Forrest, Middlesborough. There are some managers that couldnt do the half of what i am doing for the team, watch out Premiership, the title is coming home, Im coming.

Brocklesby's team are excelling in the Cup after only just entering this year, the team beat League 1 team Scunthorpe, which puts them through to the next round, Brocklesby spoke only a few words, "Johstone's paint?, easy, FA cup, bring it on".
