Roberto Carlos Takes Charge At Anfield

After only a few short days Brendan Rodgers has sensationally quit Anfield, citing unexpected personal problems as his reason.

We managed to get an interview with current Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard in which we asked him what was happening behind the scenes
"Well eh, I know Brendan wouldn't of left unless he really had to eh, All i can tell you is that John Henry has our best interests at heart and will have appointed Roberto because of his ambition an desire to succeed, he has been there and won everything eh, I can't say much more than that"

John Henry has also released a statement through his PA stating
" We here at Liverpool Football Club are delighted to announce that Roberto Carlos has decided to leave as Director of Anji and become out new manager with Immediate effect, We urge all LFC fans and supporters worldwide to extend a warm welcome to him and support all his endeavours"

Carlos inherits a decent squad including the likes of superstar Luis Suarez and living Legend Steven Gerrard as well as some exciting prospects such as Raheem Sterling, Oussama Assaidi and Daniel Sturridge.

Many Reds fans will be anxious to see what Carlos can do and whether he can bring silverware back to the defending League Cup Champions. Liverpool Fc have a fine history including no less than 5 European Champions League Trophies as well as 18 League Titles.

We finally caught up with Roberto Carlos, we asked him through our translator if he thought that not being able to speak any English would be a problem to which he answered in surprisingly fluent English "I can speak English and that's just one good thing you didn't know about me look foward to finding out more, I just want to make a statement of Intent. when Sir Alex took over at Manchester United, he declared he wanted to knock Liverpool off our perch, well he may have done so, but we want it back and will be sat back on our "perch" very soon!

Carlos has only forayed into management once before in Russia as interim at Anzhi Makhachkala and this will be his first full time managerial job. Carlos renown throughout the world as one of the best ever left back's to grace the game will have his work cut out at this sleeping giant, but if he is as good off the field as he was on he will have no worries.
Good luck :)

Carlos Gets A Gentle Introduction At The Kop.

New Liverpool Roberto Carlos has a pretty good start at Anfield so far this season, he started of with some friendlies and things did not look good first of losing 5-0 to Heerenveen from the Netherlands and a measly 2-2 draw with Philadelphia Union, they then held The Standard Chartered Cup of which Newcastle United Barcelona and Anderlecht entered, The reds Lost 1-0 to The Toon in the semi-final so had a 3rd Place Play-Off with Anderlecht which they secured their only pre-season victory 5-1.

Liverpool then had to muster themselves together against Aktobe a small team from Kazakhstan in the Europa League 3rd Round Qualifiers. They did so and Managed to win 4-1 at home with goals from Joe Allen, Phillipe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez and 4-2 away with well taken goals from Luis Suarez, Phillipe Coutinho and Jose Enrique, which qualified them through to the europa Cup Play-Offs 8-3 on aggregate.

Luis Suarez then came back early from the international break from Uruguay with a serious hamstring injury that will keep him out for the next 2-3 months.

The League campaign started off at The Hawthorns for Liverpool in what should of been a simple 3 points but in true Liverpool fashion they struggled to a 1-1 draw, Joe Allen being the savior with his first goal on his league debut for The Reds.

They then face Ac Horsens from Denmark in the Europa Cup Play Off at home they won this match 2-1 with 2 goals from young superstar Raheem Sterling.

Liverpool's first tough fixture was against Chelsea where a sublime hat-trick from Captain Steven Gerrard lead them to a 3-0 win over the current European Champions aided by a red card from John Obi Mikel.

A trip to Denmark was next on the cards for Carlos's boys where another comfortable 2-1 was secured with a penalty from Steven Gerrard and a striker finish from centre-back Martin Skrtel.

So to summarise, after an extremely poor season Roberto Carlos has managed to remain undefeated in competitive games as Liverpool's manager. If he carries on in this manner he will surely win over the doubters who say he isn't cut out for top tier management.
