Heated battle between the great and the unknown...

More on the latest news regarding the Lyon managerial crisis, it appears Lyonnais' chairman Aulas, has come down to a decision between highly-rated Arsene Wenger, and the unknown name of Josh Sleightholm who has been said to of come straight out from his coaching courses, only at the age of 25. Arsene Wenger has talked about Sleightholm in a recent press conference claiming he is to inexperienced, and not at a high enough standard for the job. Press have been trying to attain a reply from Josh, but nothing has been said as of yet. This is Arvind Krishna reporting for Sky Sports News.

Lyon board appoint the obscure

It is confirmed that the 25 year old, completely unknown Englishman Joshua Sleightholm has been appointed Head Coach of Olympique Lyonnais. The board have announced he had what they were looking for despite is lack of experience playing or managing. Sleightholm had stated in a press conference he was over the moon with the boards decision, however he had said he felt sorry for Arsene Wenger who had been beaten by a 'nobody'. This is Akash Vidyasagar reporting for Sky Sports News.

First impressions say it all... (Part One)

9am, Monday 2nd July 2012, Chairman's Office, Stade de Gerland, Lyon, France...

As I walk down what seems to be the never ending corridor I tell myself not to buy that Right-Guard deodorant again, I'm sweating like a pig. This must be what all new managers experience. I finally reach a door with the name 'Jean-Michel Aulas' upon it. I knock and wait...

http://www.ouest-france.fr/photos/2013/02/20/130220132609878_15_000_apx_470_.jpg

Come in! I heard from the other side of the door, so I entered...

Jean-Michel Aulas
Josh Sleightholm
Bruno Génésio

"Welcome, Mr.Sleightholm, please take a seat"

"Thank you, sir."

"So, we have the contract signed and you are now manager of Olympique Lyonnais, well done! I have 100% trust in you to take this club up, as do the board, you have our full backing."

"Thank you, I'm looking forward to working with this club and achieving big things, and i would like to thank you personally for taking time out your busy schedule and coming to welcome me to this fantastic club.

"It's my pleasure, Josh. A key part of management is keeping the fans happy, and they'd be impressed if they knew their recently appoint manager has taken time out to read about the history of his club, would you like me to send you a quick email explaining it all?"

"Yes! That'd be brilliant thanks."

"Ok, now, here's the difficult part, the board and I have agreed that a Wage Budget of £523K would be sufficient and a transfer budget of £0."

"Ahaha! You are a funny man Jean-Michel! But in all seriousness, what will my budget be?"

"£0."

"Oh, I see, well, I'm afraid I'll need more than that, but we can discuss that later."

"Of course, yes, so it's traditional for new managers to hold a press conference at their new club, would you like one set up for, lets say, tomorrow?"

"Yes, yes, it will give me a chance to say hello to our fans properly."

"Ok, thank you for being here Josh, I'll now let you speak with your Assistant Manager."

"Ok, see you later."

*Aulas leaves the room*

"Welcome to the club Boss! I'm Bruno, your AM, will there be anything you will be requiring?"

"No, not at the moment Bruno, but I shall inform you of anything I may need later, but for now, I have to be somewhere, see you later."

"Goodbye Boss."

Sleightholm's debut Press Conference as Lyon manager...

Welcome Josh I am Gavin Johnson from the Telegraph... You sit here as the new manager of Olympique Lyonnais, is this your dream job?

Well yes, managing a team of this standard is surely a dream come true. Yes, yes it is!

How involved do you plan to be in the day-to-day running of the club?

I'd liked to be involved as much as time allows me

Just a quick question, will you be a 'hands-on' coach or will you portray a more reserved manner?

I want my players to know them can come to me with anything

Ok, thank you for your time Mr.Sleightholm, it has been a pleasure.

Anytime, and the pleasures all mine.

Sleightholm
Réveillère
Lopez

"Good morning all! Sorry to drag you here this early in the morning, but I'd like to introduce myself as early as possible, I'm your new head coach, Josh, pleased to meet you all."

*Various 'Morning's' come from the room*

"I want to take this chance to tell you how we are going to play this season, I've watched you all in training, and my style fits in perfect with your style, and it pleases Aslaus, so it's good all round. Basically, pass, move, pass, move, pass move, killer ball, goal. There is no way on earth that can fail, you boys know how to do it, this season, Ligue 1 is ours!"

*Team stand up and cheer*

"Okay, okay, calm down boys, thank you, for those words Josh, may I ask who will be taking up captaincy this season?"

"Yes yes, Lisandro, you shall be captain for this season, and Anthony, you are vice. If there are any problems, I will call up a 3rd and 4th person to take command. I expect you to lead your team to glory."

"Of course sir."

"Yes boss."

That's all good then, see you all in training. I will pin a list of friendlies up for you all to see, and some of you expect to be in my office, not necessarily for anything bad. Thanks boys."
Great updates m8 :)
