The American FA said in an official statement:Jurgen Klinsmann has resigned from his job as manager of the USMNT. He has done a great service to the United States and done the country proud. We wish him well for whatever lies in store.

I am very happy that everything was cordial. However, I want to get back to club football or manage another European nation. That is where my future lies."
The US reportedly has a number of high profile targets in mind as Klinsmann's replacement, with current LA Galaxy manager Bruce Arena the leading candidate. Ex-player and one of the top US scorer's of all time, Brian McBride, is also being mentioned.
