a striker has the qualitys of a target man(tall, good heading)but u could also find small strikers with good speed(good for counter attack) and usually plays alone in the center.he doesent have any defensive tasks.
the forward can also play on the flanks and he is usually fast with good passing.depending on the team's (and manager's) style of play he can play with another forward or with a striker.the combination of a fast forward and tall striker can be very effective.
