Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers Football Club (usually referred to as QPR) is an English professional football club, based in White City, London. As the 2010–11 Football League Championship champions, they now play in the top tier of English football, the Premier League, for the first time in 15 years. Other honours include winning the League Cup in 1967, being runners-up in the old First Division in 1975–76 and reaching the final of the FA Cup in 1982. Queens Park Rangers Football Club were founded in 1886 after the merger of Christchurch Rangers and St. Judes Institute, and their traditional colours are blue and white. In the early years after the club's formation in their original home of Queen's Park, games were played at many different grounds until finally the club settled into their current location at Loftus Road. Owing to their proximity to other west London clubs, QPR maintain long-standing rivalries with several other clubs in the area. The most notable of these are Chelsea, Fulham and Brentford, with whom they contest what are known as West London Derbies. Outside London, QPR also traditionally share a rivalry with Watford, although in recent years these fixtures have become less prominent.

My aim

In this story my aim is to keep QPR in the premier league but to also push for a top half finish. This will be more of a side story while Henry will be my main story.

The return of Les Ferdinand

Earlier today QPR chairman, Tony Fernandes, confirmed that Les Ferdinand will be the new QPR manager. Last year QPR narrowly escaped relegation, this year they will want a higher finish on the table. Last week former manager Mark Hughes was sacked following a constant feud between him and the chairman.

Les had been coaching the QPR U15's so he definitely has a little bit of coaching experience. He is very familiar with how QPR is run as he played for them during his playing career.

The fans will definitely be behind the hiring of Ferdinand but does he have what it takes to keep QPR up this year, lets see.

Ferdinand had a few words to say about him being promoted:

''Its great to now be the manager at Rangers as before I was the u15 head coach.I'm confident that I can keep the club up and I'm very sure success will be coming our way very soon.''
Looking forward to this, I thought about a qpr story but I won't don't worry lol

What transfer budget you got?
Good luck Seni :) will be interesting!
Good luck.
Good luck with QPR, Seni. They can be tough at first but by the second season you should be sorted :) Hope to see these pathetic relegation-threatened Rs get taken to glory :P
Thanks for the support already!

TikaTika, they have 4m
Nice! Is this the end of your Henry story? Even if it is this will be good.
Playing as Q.P.R is super tough, they just brought together a random bunch of PL-level players without thinking about what positions they need etc. Your tactic will need to be very flexible to accommodate different types of players for the same position (At AMC, Granero is an AP, while Taarabt is an AM or Treq, on the wings Toilett is defo an IF, but guys like Park and Wright-Phillips don't have the ability to cut in and shoot.)Also, because of their high wages, its gonna be hard to sell them. Good luck. :P

Edit: 350th post! btw you have REMY! You should breeze through to top 10 :P

QPR sign wonderkid

QPR have signed Mexican wonderkid Carlos Fierro, from Chivas for a fee of 3.8 million. QPR had to fight off a lot of competition to get his signature but they somehow managed to pull it off.

Fierro spent 4 years at Chivas making a total of 43 appearances for them. This is an amazing record for an 18 year old.

It will be interesting to see if Fierro will be QPR's main striker due to the fact that they already have 3 or 4 other strikers. There will certainly be some competition. Fierro himself can't actually speak English but that's not a big deal as he can learn how to very quickly.

This season QPR will be aiming for a top half finish, Fierro may be able to help them achieve that.

Pre Season

We had a fairly successful pre season. There's still a lot we must work on as the team have not really gelled together yet. However with time hopefully things will get much better.

Our first game of the season is against Arsenal FC. They're a tough side and they pass the ball around very well.
