Scottish Sunday League footballer, Michael Gaughan, has left his post at the local hospital to peruse his dreams of entering the football management hall of fame. Gaughan is trying to tear up the record books by becoming the first ever manager to win all five continental Champions Leagues.
The young man at 25 years old has taken a massive gamble by leaving his steady job to pursue his dream but it is rumoured the Scottish FA will be covering the costs of his travels in the hope he will one day become a world – famous Scottish manager. The decision by the FA has not been received well by many Scots claiming they are just throwing their money away. Gaughan stated in an interview with Sky Sports: “I have always dreamed of being a football manager since I was a wee lad, perhaps inspired by watching my father manage local club – Clydebank – to a Scottish junior cup final at Hampden Park? I don’t know? But I can tell you this… I am relishing the challenge!”
It is rumoured that Gaughan will be starting his expedition in Asia but nothing has been confirmed. All I can say is to wish the young man the very best of luck with this extraordinary challenge.
