Jim White- "Breaking news from the north east, as we have just received news that Sunderland have sacked their manager Martin O'Neill. O'Neill had been manager at the stadium of light since December 2011 when he replaced the then sacked Steve Bruce .Many Sunderland fans will demand the reason for his sacking to be made public, as they feel he should still be in charge of the north east outfit. We now go live to our Sky Sports correspondent who is outside the stadium of light to tell us more on this story".

Correspondent- "Well yes Jim, we have been told minutes ago that Martin O'Neill has been sacked as manager of Sunderland. The reason i am here is because i was due to go into a press conference in one hour where Martin O'Neill would be speaking about team affairs, but it doesn't look like that will happen anymore. I spoke to the clubs chairman Ellis Short minutes ago, and he said it was because O'Neill had been recently criticizing the way Sunderland was run, in which he was expressing his views on twitter".
Wonder who chose that amazing sounding title for you... Good Luck ;)

Yeah that would be great if you could. I didn't get to use the banner i was going to in my Celta story so yeah.

Jim White- "More on the news that Martin O'Neill was sacked by Sunderland 3 days ago, as it is revealed that tensions were growing between O'Neill and chairman Ellis Short by the day. But since then, Short has said that he had devised a 4 man shortlist as to who he will attempt to hire as the clubs new manager and take them forward. It was a shock for many Sunderland fans to see O'Neill go but they understand why when the club announced the reasons. O'Neill had supported Sunderland when he was growing up, and was appointed on the 3rd of December on a three year deal. His first game in charge was a 2-1 defeat to Blackburn, but form then dramatically increased, while eventually getting hammered by West Brom 4-0 which led to some growing concerns about his tactics. But just 5 months later, it seems Short had to do something and quickly sacked him, bookmakers Ladbrokes have recently published an interesting shortlist on who could be the new manager".

Roberto Di Matteo 10/1

Nigel Adkins 12/1

Paolo Di Canio 20/1

James Heyhoe 40/1
Adkins for Blunderland!

Georgie Thompson- "Sunderland have recently announed 25 year old unknown rookie James Heyhoe as their manager. Football fans across the country will have been surpirsed by the appointment as it has been revealed that the Ellis Short hired Heyhoe based on his football management game, Football Manager, and pub football achievements. It has not been said why he was hired based on Football Manager, but he was unbeaten for 3 years at Yates Sports FC, based in Norton Canes, the town Heyhoe grew up in. He has been given a 1 year deal worth £22,500 a week and he will be expected to play attacking football. He beat former Chelsea icon Roberto Di Matteo to the post, where it was revealed yesterday that Di Matteo was ready to sign a contract".

Team Report

The team report is based on the best players in the positions that will be used this season in my tactics. I removed the sweeper and wing backs.
I made you this banner for your story, as promised. Hope you like it :)

Nice start, nice banner, good luck! :)

New Signing!

Sunderland today announce the capture of 18 year old Brazilian attacking midfielder Mattheus from Flamengo after activating his £925k release clause. It is believed that the youngster could become a key player in Heyhoe's tactics but the only problem is that he doesn't know English, whether this hinders his appearances is yet to be seen.

More Signings!

Sunderland have managed to complete the signings of 3 more players as manager James Heyhoe looks to boost his squad ahead of the upcoming season.

26 year old Ilsinho has joined on loan for the season and his main position is MR but will be played at RB for most of the time.

21 year old Nicklas Helenius joins for £2.5m and will provide cover for the strikers.

29 year old arthur Boka joins for £2.4m and will provide cover in the DL position

Pre-Season Results!

Sunderland 1-1 Anderlecht (Graham)

SV Ried 2-3 Sunderland (Graham, Fletcher, Larsson)

Sunderland 1-4 Real Sociedad (Bravo O.G)

Sunderland 4-1 Roma (Gardner, Helenius x2, Fletcher)

Great pre-season except from the Sociedad result, Newcastle on opening game at home so hopefully we can win.
