Barnsley sign Amos.

Yorkshire club Barnsley have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Ben Amos on a free transfer after his Manchester United contract ended just this week. He is Brocklesby's 9th signing of the season and joins Brocklesby's new wave of youngsters.

Many were shocked when Amos left on a free transfer as he was sometimes used as a backup keeper for the Premier league side, however very rarely. The 22 year old spent 9 seasons at United, 3 of these where he was out on loan at lower league clubs and was once touted as the next big thing, but things didnt plan out for the young lad from Macclesfield and was often placed in the reserves.

Despite this still pulled great performances out of the bag, which gained him the respect of the whole team. The once touted next big thing moved to Oakwell joining ex team mate and fellow goalkeeper Luke Steel and up and coming star Mattheus hoping for a first team place, and a chance of promotion to prove to the Premier league that he isnt dead wood and is worth it.

The reason Amos left Old Trafford was clear; he wasnt being played, and wasnt needed so was classed as a waste of wages. However when the opportunity came, Brocklesby leaped on hoping for a chance to secure a deal with the player to make him a Tyke, offering the player almost everything he could as he still saw potential in the young player.

Ben Amos will be on a £4.4K a week contract which will run up until late 2017 at Oakwell. Barnsley fans are said to be delighted at the young promisng signing on a free transfer and hope they can make profit on him in the future.

Amos is a very nice signing! And great to start with a month undefeated :)

I expect you to build on that ;)
Amos will be a brilliant signing! (totally not saying this because I'm a United fan) ;)
