In my 5th season of football manager with Chelsea having won Premier League in my first season, and 3 champions leagues consecutively the next three years (as well as fa cups and carling cups). Admittedly, I struggled in the league during those seasons, finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, but more than once, I was drawn against Barcelona and AC Milan during the CL triumphs. Attacking 4-2-3-1 formations did wonders at home against both, whilst playing a balanced, standard tactic earned a victories at camp nou! In the league, I haven't changed my main formation in any season, which may not be great, but a 4-2-4 with 2 wide attacking midfielders (Mata and Afellay), with Torres and Doumbia/Drogba up front won the league. Lukaku was shipped out on loan for 2 seasons and now in my 5th season averages a goal a game, as do torres (now 31) and Jovetic.
New signings have been made of course, notably Pastore, bought for a bargain of £15 million, at 4 stars, Jovetic at a pricely £37.5 million pounds, also 4 stars, Christian Erikson who has been outstanding in central midfield alongside Ramires, and is also assist leader. Otamendi was signed for £13 million, another bargain considering his defensive attributes. Reminds me of Carvalho, not the strongest or biggest, but brilliant with his positioning and marking. Chygrynskyi was signed on a free and is a brilliant squad player, and Schennikov at left back as a replacement for Cole, though Bertrand has been better!
