Cheers and hopefully Kehl will be just as successful
Not sure if de Bruyne worth that much but the others are great signings! Hopefully the new manager can make himself a big hit!

Trust me, he's worth every penny, and he's still improving. And I hope Kehl brings a big impact too! :)

2015/16 Season

A decent season with finishing 2nd place, a shocking 5 points behind eventual champions Bayern Munich. A good run in the Champions League, we wanted to keep our title but were thrashed 4-1 on aggregate to Manchester City in the Quarter Final after beating a very strong Barcelona 4-2 on aggregate. The only cup we won was the German Super Cup at the start of the season against Bayern Munich on penalty's.

Incoming Transfers 2016/17

Coming in so far for the new season is former Dortmund man Mario Gotze for a 39.5M euros which was written in his transfer to Real Madrid in the 2012/13 season. Also to add experience to a very young squad is Robin van Persie on a free transfer from Manchester United which is a bargain in my eyes.

Transfers: 2016/17

New Borussia Dortmund gaffer Sebastian Kehl has attended a press conference with many major football magazines asking the Dortmund boss about the new signings.

Robin van Persie (€0):

Kehl: What can we say about this guy. Experienced, prolific. Just world class, why Manchester United didn't offer him a new contract blows my mind, a free transfer for such a great player is a steal. We currently have a very young squad at Dortmund now and Robin will be able to tutor our younger players here meanwhile banging the goals in at the games, we were very lucky to pick up Robin before anyone else. I am very happy with this great player coming to such a great club in Dortmund.

Daniele De Rossi (€10.25M):

Another player to add experience and at such a low price. I really don't know why Roma decided to put Daniele on the transfer list in the first place. We have been attending a lot of Roma games this season and Daniele shone among many, well average players. The way he can stop play himself and carry on the attack with fast momentum is a sign he is a world class player.

Djuro Bronic (€25.5M):

What an exciting player. At such a young age he shows the attributes of a seasoned pro. The Eredivisie is full of promising young talent such as Viktor Fischer but he stands out among those players. He played 26 games last season for PSV which shows he has got top-flight football before and I hope to use him as a key player for many seasons to come.

Alan Kavanagh (€170K):

I may offend people here but the Irish league is a very obscure league. This boy doesn't deserve to be playing with so many amateurs, he is class and a lovely guy to speak to. His Irish jolliness will rub off on the players and hope to use him lots more in the future.

Sani Simo (€2.5M):

We have Nicolas Nkoulou and Kurt Zouma who have come from the French Ligue 1 and have been world class, I am very confident this boy will be as well. He hasn't played a professional game yet but that game will come in time and I am confident he will shine. His marking and tackling are excellent and that will develop more once he gets a few games.

João Soares (€3M):

Already a clinical finisher, scoring 33 goals in 40 games last season for FC Porto B and definitely already a great asset to our already young strike force at the age of 19 years old. We also picked him up on a bargain and I reckon he will be getting 15 goals plus in the next few seasons for us.

Mario Götze (€39.5M):

What can we say about this boy, already a fan favourite and thanks to Mr. Barnes' transfer intelligence we have been able to bring him back for his low buy-back fee. I don't have to even introduce you to him, I used to play with him in my playing days and he's a real character in the dressing room and a real influence on the pitch.

Press: We have also heard you have agreed deals for August as well, is this true?

Kehl: Yes, we are bringing in an Ivorian left winger in called Mamadou Toure. Our African scouts spotted him playing for a Ivory Coast team called AFAD Djékanou, he looks very promising at the age of 17. Also we have signed an Argentinian 'keeper called Nahuel Moscuzza who is 17 years old and made 2 appearances with them and he looks very promising as well.

Press: Let's talk about your outgoings now, with 8 first team players going out of the door. How do you feel about these players going?

Kehl: Of course, we wish the players the best for the future, unless it's against us haha but Iker Muniain never really fitted in to the squad and ended up going to Arsenal for €35M, it's the same story for Giroud he had a good start but didn't carry his form on and lost his place eventually and that's why he went to Manchester City for €15M, also Leandro Damião went to Manchester City, he had a very good season but the offer from Manchester City was too good and went for €49M, Moritz Leitner left for Juventus for €10M, he was a really good young prospect but the arrival of Will Hughes signalled his departure to Juventus. Thibaut Courtois wasn't getting a game here with ter-Stegen's form keeping him out of the squad but we also have a younger back-up in Ricardo Batista and he went to Atletico Madrid where he enjoyed his last stay at and he went for €15M. Finally we have Burdisso who was signed by John Barnes after impressing for him at Everton and I personally didn't rate him and that's why he went for €19M to A.C. Milan
Its good that you brought Gotze back and why the hell did United not offer RVP a new contract
Some quality signings, RVP on a free an incredible piece of business

Kehl announces Dortmund numbers

Borussia Dortmund boss Sebastian Kehl has announced Der BVB's squad numbers for the coming 2016/2017 season:

Speculation that Kehl is looking at a new striker is high because of the blank number 9 role.
Great update, must of taken AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGESS to take all of those screenies :P
Wow great story nice team too keep it up :D

Squad reviews

So as we head into the new 2016/17 Bundesliga season we take a look at the title contenders this season:

FC Bayern Munich:

Current title holders and favourites to win again this year, here are their main men for this season:

Borussia Dortmund:

The last few seasons the Bundesliga title has gone two ways with Bayern Munich and Dortmund both being very competitive, here are their key players:

August: A firing start

What a start. 3 games that finished with me scoring 3 goals+ in. So a great start, I was expecting an easy win but I didn't expect 11-0! Neymar, El Shaarawy and Gundogan all got hattricks and Djuro Bronic got two great goals. We then played our first Bundesliga game of the season against 1. Nurnberg 4-1 with goals from Gundogan, Neymar (2) and an own goal from Nurnberg's Hiroshi Kiyotake. To round off the month we won 3-0 against Freiburg with goals from Neymar and El Shaarawy (2).

We are top of the league going into September and our first game is against our title rivals FC Bayern Munich who are currently 6th in the Bundesliga.

September-October Review

A great set of results in the league, cup and Champions League. I was most happy with our 7-1 win over Gladbach as they are a very good team and we managed to beat them with a 6 goal margin. The low point is our 2-1 loss to Bayern which set our season off to a bad start.

We finished 2nd with 3 points behind current leaders Bayern, not exactly where I wanted to be but it's good enough.
