Cove F.C. - Onwards & Upwards

http://images.pitchero.com/clubs/22102/110912104147.jpg

Cove Football Club is an amateur football club based in Cove near Farnborough in Hampshire, England. The club is affiliated to the Hampshire Football Association.

Founded: 1897

Hi guys, I have decided to start a journey man story with Cove F.C. down in the depths of English non-league football at Level 9 in the Combined Counties League Premier Division and hopefully bring them through to European domination, ha!

I will try to do in game monthly up dates and show how we fair each month. I know this will be a tough challenge as the quality of players you can find at this level is almost non existent but will try to source them somehow.

Well here we go, wish me good luck!
Nice start, nice little banner you've made yourself there and I will be following! :)
Big challenge- if you can stick to it you'd be legendary!

Cheers guys, just about to start Pre-season. Will be interesting to see how we fair
Nice start, and a nice banner. Try to get them to the Premier League, and dont leave! :P
Good luck with this
Very nice start mate, I am really looking forward to this! Good luck! :)
Will be hard to see if you do well or not in the friendlies as I don't know any of the teams well below the Conferences leagues, haha.
Good luck with this :)

Cove F.C. - Season 1 - Pre-Season

So we headed into Pre-Season optimistic with a few new additions and some of the existing players got snapped up by other clubs as we are still an amateur club.

I decided to set up with a 4-4-2 formation to try and keep it simple as the players at this level don't have any real quality to try anything fancy, so it was a case of setting up with a Rigid formation with an attacking philosophy to start with and see how we got on, I didn't want my players running around like headless chickens.

Pre-season supplied us with a mixed set of results as we did face some opposition in leagues above ourselves so I was more looking at the performances and tried to see if we had something to build on.

So heading into the first month of the season and hopefully we can get of to a good start!
Not bad results
Never heard of any of the players you've signed, but if they are good, nice signings! If not, bad signings >:(. All I know is that you didn't overspend xD.

Ok results, too.
Wow this is a challenge and a half! Never seen anyone start so low down so will be good to see this story dude! Decent pre season and whatever you do don't leave the club :P i want to see you make it all the way

Cove F.C. - Season 1 - August - A good start

So Cove F.C headed into August with a fairly fit squad, as fit as you can get the players down at this level. We started with a win which is always a good sign against Hanworth Villa and followed it with another good performance and victory against Colliers Wood United. Unfortunatley the next two games the team didn't perform and we were hit with two losses against Windsor F.C and Horley Town in the EL Records Challenge Cup. I decided to have a go at the players before the next match against Sandhurst Town and it did have an affect as we ran out 5-3 winners in a high scoring game.

This is how the table looks after the month of August, hopefully we can now push on as only 1st position in this league gets promoted.

Cove F.C. - Season 1 - September - A mixed bag

September came around and we had 6 fixtures, 5 being leagues fixtures and the replay in the El Records challenge cup. We started of the month again with a good start with victories over Guernsey and Horley Town in the replay. A mediocre performance against Bedfont sports which resulted in a 1-1 draw and a solid performance against Egham Town. Unfortunatley we couldn't continue this form at the end of the month as we had two awful performances against Moseley F.C and Chessington resulting in two defeats. Although a mixed set of results it still kept us up the at the sharp end of the table.

Behind Raynes Park Vale, and ahead of Corydon, my local teams :O
