Nice update, I'm looking forward to this! :)

Whelan appointed manager

Ronnie Whelan has been appointed Bray's new manager after the departure of fan favourite Pat Devlin. The former Bray's manager had recommended the former Liverpool player, along with his former assistant manager, Kevin Long . Nevertheless, the chairman of the Irish side, Eddie Cox, has decided to employ the former Southend United manager. The new manager, has been given a tough task ahead of the campaign, as rumours around the internet are saying that no type of budget has been given.

However, the Irish manager remains happy with the current squad he holds. He said," The squad we have is great. Dempsey, Waters and Mulroy are fantastic players. I really believe that the attacking area is in no need to be changed." Whelan took a sigh before saying," In the other hand, the defense needs some working. We might be signing some players to boost our chances to stay at the Irish PL." When Whelan heard that most pundits believe that Tommy Dunne will be the first-team goalkeeper he said," Tommy (Dunne) is a great player, there is no reason why he shouldn't be in the first-team. He's been great and Dean (Quigley) must be in top-notch if he wants to be our #1 goalkeeper this season."

This has prompted to fans to be extremely happy with the new manager, as he is giving the youngsters a chance. Many teenagers are known to be having some trials after the news that Senior Tommy Dunne might be playing in Ireland's top flight.

Whelan 'excited' to manage Bray

New Bray Wanderer's manager Ronnie Whelan has talked up of his 'excitement' to his recent appointment to the Irish team. The former Liverpool player has only had the chance to manage in England and in Cyprus and believes that managing in the country he lives is just 'magical'.

He said," It's great to be at Ireland with the job of being a manager. I know that many think that the Irish league is one of the worst of the world, but they haven't seen what it has to offer." He added," Every match is fought. During the pre-season we had some losses and draws against teams in the lower divisions, and this clearly shows it." Nevertheless, the former Irish international has talked up of some transfer targets. He listed," Peter and Connor McMahon are definitely on my top of the list. Chris Mulhall from U.C.D and Michael Lee from Longford are also some of the players I have some eyes on." Finally, the Irish manager said," No players will leave the club, as they are key to this season. Dempsey and Byrne will lead the club to the top."

The club has also announced that they have sold the same amount of season tickets than last season which is 220. The manager has also talked up about the fans supporting the team throughout the season. He said," Over the last seasons, our fan support has gone up to the roof, but our stadium can fill over 3,000 supporters and when we are at home, I'd like to fill that." He added," Of course, we have to prove the fans that we can with good performances and I'm hoping for that."

Great update mate :)
Very nice. Like your writing so far.

Whelan unveils a quartet of players

New Bray Wanderer's manager, Ronnie Whelan, has not wasted any minute to sign players, as he brought four Irish players. Two of the players have signed from fellow Irish Premier Division sides, who go by the name of Michael Lee and Chris Mulhall, from Longford and U.C.D. respectively. The Irish duo are 'extremely' happy to join Bray and to play under such a manager, according to the Irish press. Chris Mulhall took his time on his twitter account.

He said
#Very nice to sign for Bray! The squad are already welcoming me in! I'd like to thank everyone at U.C.D. for letting me join this team and play under my idol, Ronnie Whelan! #Cheers4Bray

Meanwhile, the two other signings came after both players impressed in their respective trials. Conor and Peter McMahon both signed their contracts on the latter hours of yesterday after successfully completing their medicals. Both players, who have experienced the Irish Premier Division have signed 3 year contracts, as they have never stayed at a club no longer than two years. Conor McMahon, the defender was perhaps the defender that Whelan had spoken in one of his press conference's before. Nevertheless, the manager attended a press conference to unveil all of these players.

He said," All of these four players are great. If you see a team such as Sligo or Shamrock, they sign 5-6 great players. We get the opportunity to compete with them in the transfer market and I believe that snatching McMahon out of Shamrock's noses was one of the greatest feeling I've ever had." He then added," Conor (McMahon) will stabilize the defense with Mitchell as a strong partnership." The manager then said," Peter (McMahon) can definitely by Dempsey's successor. He has great dribbling skills and can create a play from nothing."
