As I already told you, you have some kind of bug in your save: you can't draw Man City every year! ;) Apart from that, quality updates and results... as always! :)

Kopite: City are a pain but I'm confident I can get rid of it ;)

Arvind: It is shaping up to seem that way :(

Paddy: The old foe indeed! Time to make that stop!

Gambit: Haha hopefully this changes next year :p thanks mate

Drama with Ulrik

Ulrik Yttergård Jenssen was predicted to be a world-beater. A 16-year old younger brother of Ruben, Ulrik joined in 2012 and I looked over his coach report excited to watch him train and play in the youth team.

2 years have passed and he is now involved in the first team squad but not as much as I would have personally liked. There is a reason for this. Never in my life as a player or coach or manager have I seen someone who makes such a poor effort in training. Every month my assistant manager kindly puts together training reports on the players in the first team squad and it pains me to see one name is almost always there in players that have not impressed. “Ulrik Yttergård Jenssen”. I understand he may not be getting as much game time as he wants or needs to develop massively but that is not a reason for him to be getting worse. These are the years he will make the most powerful development in his career and he is struggling.

I have had many talks with him about these efforts and do not believe he can disregard my directions. The final discussion we had was yesterday and he is now transfer listed due to this pathetic lack of effort. This is perhaps one of the very few times someone has angered me so much in my time as manager here and I expect him to be leaving this summer.

A player with so much potential could be falling by the wayside here at Lyon and I feel so disappointed. I feel I have offered him several opportunities and nothing is more frustrating than seeing a player shove it back in your face. I honestly cannot wait to see the back of him and good luck to him elsewhere. Olympique Lyonnais is not the place for players who never put in 100%.

Champions League Quarter Final Draw

WE BEAT MANCHESTER CITY! After 2 successive years of being knocked out by them in Europe, we finally beat them in Lyon to progress. To be honest, they played absolutely crap. Zabaleta, Silva and Aguero probably put in the worst performances I have seen in the 6 games we have played against each other. What did I care? We were absolutely fantastic! And then we got drawn against Barcelona. Surprisingly, the win against City has given me confidence and I reckon we can give Barcelona a run for their money. In domestic football, P$G got battered by a 4 goal margin for the 2nd time in 2 months. They are absolute rubbish and can’t handle the football we play. 22 points clear at the top and still unbeaten! What a season this is turning in to.

League Table

Champions League Semi Final Draw

Tony Watt scored a 90th minute winner against Barcelona to give us the crucial win. What a match it was. John Ruddy was outstanding in the 1st leg, saving Iniesta’s penalty and then in the 2nd leg at home he saved Lionel Messi’s penalty. He hasn’t conceded a single goal to a penalty and this is an amazing record. A semi final draw against Porto is very winnable and Benzia ensured we are taking an advantage to Portugal for the second leg. The 2 losses in the league are disappointing but the 2nd one came after we secured the title. I was dreaming we could go a season unbeaten in the league but it wasn’t to be. This is just motivation for next season to go even better and only lose 1 game.
*WE BEAT MANCHESTER CITY*

*Gets drawn with Barcelona*

:))

Oh, wait...

YOU BEAT BARCELONA :O

Good luck in the Semis! Just noticed Liverpool there, had to laugh :P

Lyon Secure Domestic Double

10th April 2015 – Lyon secure the Ligue 1 title for the 3rd year in a row, this time winning it with several games left to play. It seemed no team could keep pace with us as we embarked on a remarkable unbeaten run in the league, producing performances of the highest quality. I am unbelievably proud of the boys we have. We have had the youngest average age in the league for three years running and each year we have won the title. Who says you can’t win with kids?!

18th April 2015 – Lyon win the Coupe de la Ligue. It was always in our grasp and for the 2nd year running we played Saint-Etienne in the final and in both finals we scored 4 goals. The scoring power in this team is remarkable and I can see us dominating the cup competitions in France for years to come if we carry on at this rate.

The next trophy on the agenda is the Champions League. We currently hold a 1-0 lead over Porto heading in to the 2nd leg. The other semi-final has been concluded, with Liverpool edging past Bayern Munich. This opens up a great possibility for Lyon, as I believe Bayern may have been too strong for us, with players such as Falcao and Kroos. With matters all clear on the domestic front, European glory is within our grasp and there is nothing more that would vindicate my ability as manager than to bring home the coveted Champions League trophy for the fans, friends and families of Olympique Lyonnais with perhaps the youngest ever team to play in a Final.
"This opens up a great possibility for Lyon, as I believe Bayern may have been too strong for us".

Are you implying something about Liverpool? :P
Who says you can’t win with kids?!
Alan Hansen.
:P

Congratulations on the double! *salutes* Now make it three!
