On genie scout should i look at the rating of the player in a position or his potential ability?
The potential ability is what you should look after, the potential rating can still improve when the player gets older and gets more experience. And when he maxes his PA the rating might be 5% higher in the end then what genie said at the start

I strongly disagree, if you compare two players of the same position one who has for example a PA of 170 and a pos ability % of about 63, with one who as a PA of 155 but a pos ability % of 78 the latter tends to perform better. stats like consistency and Imp matches also play apart.

Bensalt you might have a point there but the most of the times a player with a high Pa which is lower rated on his potential % will end up higher when he nears his max Pa.
but once they both are at full PA and the guy with 180 has a 81% rating and the guy with 190 has a 78% rating then go for the guy with the higher %

But if you are looking for regens then at first always go for the regen with higher PA cause his % will improve as explained above.
For well known players which are at max ca/pa then go for the %

sorry for letting that part out of the explanation

Its fine I understand, I don't really think there's a completely right or wrong answer here there are a lot of variables which contribute to performance. So on genie scout where there is a POTENTIAL positional rating % would that increase as they maxed out their CA?
Yes Bensalt eventually those % will rise but it won't increase with more then 10%.
So for example a player with 197 pa is rated at 81 or 82 % when he just becomes available in the youth.
Once he reaches his max CA the max potential rating can be between 88 and 91%
good stuff
