Great win against Corinthians but tough luck losing Emenike and Mikel. Jovetic should score plenty for you though

Splashing the cash

In this January transfer market, Chelsea certainly haven't been shy in spending money as they made two large signings to strengthen both the attack and defense. Chelsea already agreed a deal for Stevan Jovetic during the summer.

Chelsea's first signing of the January transfer market was Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munchen for a fee around 27 m. The Swiss international was disappointed with sitting on the bench for most of his time at Bayern and so handed in a transfer request. Chelsea had to fight off competition for the 21 year old. Shaqiri is quick and is a very good dribbler, making him a perfect winger. He is also very young and will develop to be a world class player.

Chelsea's second signing of the transfer market, was the Brazilian defender Dede from Vasco for a fee around 26 million. The younger defender was at that stage of his career, where in order fr him to succeed he had to move to a bigger club. Vasco contacted Chelsea to see if they were interested and Chelsea replied in making an official bid. Dede is very quick for a centre back and is very good in the air.

Woah two great signings there mate. Dede is a defensive animal and Shaqiri is a quality player

January fixtures & Results

Chelsea FC are really pushing for the title as they had yet another impressive month. Although it was they had some fixtures Chelsea did not win every game drawing a total of four games. Mourinho seemed to use this month to test our some youth players. For example players such as Alex Kiwomya and Lewis Baker made appearances and even started, whereas Islam Feruz has been making cameo appearances since the beginning of the season. Mourinho seems to rate Chelsea's youth players very highly but it will be interesting to see if they fully develop and more importantly, if they actually play for Chelsea in the future.

It has been interesting to see how Chelsea are coping without the likes of Mikel and Emmenike, luckily they've been copping very well. Demba Ba has been sold to Fernabache for 9.75 million and so will not return to the club from the AFCON.

Here are Chelsea fixtures and results in January, accompanied with the goalscorers.

Chelsea have now gone 25 games unbeaten in the league, and 42 games unbeaten in all competitions. Right now, no team seems capable of beating the blues. Also they have successfully reached the final of the Capital one cup, after defeating Norwich City 3-1 on aggregate. In the champions league first knockout round Chelsea have been handed Gladbach, a fairly easy fixture but anything can happen.

Player of the month

Chelsea's player of the month......STEVAN JOVETIC. The new striker has been in good form scoring 4 goals in his first month at the club. When Emenike returns there will be definitely be some competition between the two, but Jovetic is capable of playing in the attacking midfield too.

Emenike, Jovetic and Torres = Deadly Attack
Great signings but I think you overspent spose it depends what your transfer budget was like but I would've spent less or get someone of the same quality but someone who'll be cheaper
I am mega impressed with Shaqiri I think he will be a awesome player for you :)
Thanks for all the comments guys. So far I think I've spent my money well but its still early

Capital One Cup

"Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea! Chelsea, Chelsea Chelsea!" is what the Chelsea fans were singing yesterday at a jam packed Wembley stadium as their side defeated Arsenal 2-0 to win the cup. This is Mourinho's fourth trophy in his first season back at the club and he was delighted with his teams performance as at one point they were down to 9 men, due to a red card and an injury.

Oh, I'm very happy with today. The team player very well, everybody worked hard and we got the result we wanted. Tomorrow there will be no training, we have to celebrate this. However we must not forget we have another 3 competitions we can still win.

Chelsea went ahead thanks to an Oriol Romeu goal in the 52nd minute. John Obi Mikel then received a second yellow card in the 78th minute and Chelsea were down to ten men, but they managed to prevail and even score as Fernando Torres scored again in the 82nd minute to put the game to bed. A few minutes later John Terry was forced off with an injury, but Chelsea had used all their subs and had to play with 9 men. Mourinho has been praised highly by fans, not only for the cup victory but for also playing u18 players Lewis Baker, and Alex Kiwomya. Both played well and seemed to enjoy the occasion.

The squad celebrated wildly after a very physical game. Both teams wanted to win badly, there was plenty of moaning, screaming and swearing between both sides.

When Jose was asked what's next for Arsenal he replied:

I think they should bring in Thierry Henry, an Arsenal legend and make Wenger a director. Then trophies will start to flow in like a river, although of course we'll try our best to stop that from happenning.

Chelsea have been superb yet again this month, winning the majority of their games and still sitting on top of the league.

Unbeaten in the league great work mate and another trophy makes its way to Stamford Bridge congrats
You are doing amazing!! Keep It Up
