Through footballing history, hundreds of child prodigies have made themselves known- they have shown skill that many in there prime cannot achieve and have bested some of the greats. They are not only talented, but they have the potential to grow, to become even better, to perhaps become the best.
Despite this, many prodigies have been built up just to be knocked down. They have transferred to big teams and under performed, playing the remainder of their professional days as a nobody that's name used to be on the lips of millions.
Some live up to the expectation, they grow, they are nurtured in to the player they were rumored to become. But these are few, the minority. But who will be the next to fulfill their potential?

The next Prodigy.

So, I tried this before with the story 'Paramount'. At the time I was juggling three or four stories, so I didn't continue it. I have decided to try it once again, this time in a slightly different way. Essentially, I am doing a story following a player created in the Editor who is given maximum potential. I will follow the player through his hardships and through his successes. He will hopefully become the best in the world by his prime, but for now, he will just start of as a 14 year old free agent.

Meet Santo Salvatici.

I will be following this 14 year old for the next twenty (or-so) years to see where he goes. He will have his highs, he will have his lows, but, by the look of it, he may become a great.

Santo is undoubtedly an attacking midfielder. Despite having the capability to play positions like center-mid and on the wings, he shows his talent in one place in particular.

Santo follows several club, though his hometown club, Milan, is his most favored. He idolizes Cristiano Ronaldo, who he believes is the best in the world, as well as Mario Balotelli, who he feels is his countries best.

Santo is already attracting attention from a few clubs.

This might be a good time to start the story. So, it begins. Santo Salvatici is thrown in to the world of football, but where will he go first?
aw:( Should've made him Mexican and named him Santiago Munez;)
I hope you can stick with this Toon, your writing and presentation is up there with the best but you seem to make a new story every few days! :p

I agree, but there has been some valid reasons for that. Like I said Ajax story is going still, so not every few days, more like couple of weeks, but you're right.

I know but I wanted to start in a country with a big league!
Good luck Toon, should be interesting :)
A few people have tried this so it will be interesting to see if you stick at it. Good luck.
Interesting idea, and nice start!
Good luck Toon :D

It's been 10 days since I traveled down to Rome for my trial, and I am extatic... They thought I was good enough, and offered me a contract. AS Roma... they are one of the biggest and best in all of Italy! They aren't exactly comparable to Juventus, or the San Siro teams, but they are up there. I am really happy to be able to play for them, mainly because they can really get me noticed and give me a chance to score a few against Lazio, who I don't like all too much.
It's a fantastic opportunity that I won't waste, but I'll have to make some decisions. I am getting paid over £200 a week, which is definitely enough to keep me running, but I can't forget my family... maybe we can try and move down to Rome, and my parents can find some work. I don't know yet, but we'll find a way.

Right now, I'm only part of the academy, the youth team. But if I impress at this level, maybe I can work my way up and, I don't know... hopefully, I can play in Serie A one day.

Not bad :)
Hope you can keep this going, will be following!
Keep this one going Toon and I can see it becoming a great story! Maybe change the currency to Euros? I find it weird seeing £ when the player plays in a country that uses € :P but just my opinion mate
Good so far!

It's been 2 months, almost to the day since I signed my first ever contract, and those 2 months have passed so quickly! I have been playing for the reserves and the Under 20s, which is better than I thought! I was expect to be playing for the minimum possible team, but they obviously saw something in me and thought I was already ready to take the step up!

I've been playign alright, I mean, not fantastic, but it's an ok start. Undoubtedly the highlight so far was scoring my first and only goal when we went to Spain to play Cultural Leonesa!

My father managed to find a job with a buisness in Rome, where we now live. At the moment we are just in a flat, but we hope to get somewhere else soon. I had to say goodbye to my friends in Milan, but I will contact them over the internet. For now, I must focus on my football, and also, making myself at home in Rome!
