Here we go!

I went over to Wood's Chairman, Danny Hall, right after I got the offer from F.C. Barcelona.
Can you believe it? they actually think I'm going to leave Boreham Wood. I will never leave this club. Even if you will fire me, you will have to drag me out of this place. This is my project, this is my love, this is my home! I want to sign a new contract. It will show everyone that I'm loyal to BWFC.

Now that I sealed my future with Boreham Wood, lets see how we started 2022/2023.

Friendly:

Port Vale 0 - 9 Boreham Wood
Solly Stowell x5
Alexey Kalshnikov x2
Ernie Starbuck x2

Great training game for us. We played freely, never stopped attacking, and got the result to match our performances.

Community Shield:

Manchester United 0 - 2 Boreham Wood
Klaus Wolf x2

What a tough game against our fierce rivals, Manchester United. We both played really well, but it was Klaus Wolf's superb finishing abilities that brought us the first title of the season!

Barclays Premier League:

Boreham Wood 1 - 0 Sunderland
Solly Stowell

Finally a new season has started in the Barclays Premier League. We hosted Sunderland for the first fixture, and won a comfortable 1-0 at the end. I think we weren't at our best but we still got our 3 points.

Arsenal 1 - 0 Boreham Wood

What a disappointment. We had more shots and more possession, but one mistake in the defense gave Arsenal the winning goal. Oh well, we can't win all the time.

UEFA Super Cup:

Boreham Wood 5 - 1 Malaga
Philipp Mayer
Alexey Kalshnikov
Ernie Starbuck
Klaus Wolf
Robert Schittenhelm

Some awesome way of recovering from the lose to Arsenal! We totally outclassed Malaga with our great team-play. We barely started the season, and we already have two titles!

Well, that's it for this update. Aside from the Arsenal game, we started the season really well and I hope we will continue this way.

Not a bad result against Port Vale ;)
Excellent start to the season, unfortunate to lose to Arsenal, though. Happy you're staying at the Wood :)
Of course he was never going to leave :p solid start to the season but unlucky with the loss to Arsenal mate

Premier League: Although we won against Stoke and Derby, we only drew with Chelsea and lost another 2 very important points. We didn't have the best of times in the Premier League so far, and I hope we will manage to improve.

Capital One Cup: We met Ipswich on the 3rd round, and won by a comfortable 6-1 margin. In the 4th round we will meet Derby.

Champions League: We started our way in the group stage of the competition. Our group is combined from: Boreham Wood, Leverkusen, FC Lorient and Sparta Prague. We managed to defeat FC Lorient away and Leverkusen at home, and now we are leading our group.

Champions League group:

Barclays Premier League table:

Our main rivals, Manchester United, has occupied the 1st place. Hopefully, not for long!

By the way, we also signed a new DR:

Nice signing, he is a physical beast :O

Not a terrible start in the Prem, I'm sure you'll improve!
No Liverpool FC in the Premier League...oh dear oh dear! Not the worst start ever to a league season but I am sure your fortunes will change soon.

Josh McEachran leaving The Woods

Boreham Wood F.C. have published the transfer of English midfielder, Josh McEachran, to Sevilla for a fee of £3M.

JM: I remember when the message came out back in 2016. Chelsea have released Josh and this super talent was out of contract. We immediately jumped on the opportunity and offered him a contract in Boreham Wood. He accepted and we were thrilled. For the following 4 seasons, Josh was our safe place in midfield, helping us move up from the npower Championship to the Premier League, and then helping us stay there. I believe that all of Wood's fans would like to thank him for the great service he has done for the club. I hope he will enjoy his next chapter at Sevilla.

October overview

Here comes October and we hope to fix our position in the Premier League and keep our good run of form.

Champions League: We played one more game at the group stage, against Sparta Prague away. Although the tough conditions, we managed to win eventually with a goal by Aitor Kortadi.

Capital One Cup: We played and won the 4th round against Derby with a great brace by Alexey Kalashnikov. We drew our fierce rivals Manchester United (away) in the next round. That's not going to be easy at all, and we will need Alexey to keep his form in order to win.

Barclays Premier League: We started our Premier League campaign not so great, with a draw with Chelsea and a defeat against Arsenal. Now it's time to fix it! We started things by smashing Ipswich 4-1 at home. Then we had a tough game against Manchester City but we haven't slipped, and won 2-0. After City, we were hosted by West Brom. We played really great but just failed to find the net, until Bardi scored a great goal that gave us another 3 points. Then, another tough away game, against Newcastle. They have started their season horribly but put a good fight against us. Even though, we managed to win 3-2 at the end. Also, Manchester United slipped against Huddersfield and lost 1-0, meaning we are finally top of the league!

League table:

Player of the month:
I chose Mbaye Niang and Janos Bardi as my top 2 players for this month. Niang scored a lot of very important goals and Bardi just dictated our play every single match.

Niang:

Bardi:

As always, read, enjoy, comment and stay tuned for more~
