Good luck mate! Glad my story inspired so many!

The First goal

Showtime

*peeep* The ref blew his whistle vigorously! A foul on the edge of the box. My legs are aching, I don't know if I should even stand up, the pain is just unbearable. My teammates helped picked me up.

One of them said "you think you can bend it like Beckham ayy". I smiled, I had spent hours practicing how to curl the ball like my father has done on many occasions. The key is to hit the ball at the right point of the ball with the inside of my foot for it to go around the wall...

I took 4 paces backwards, I slanted my body a bit to the left as I was going to try and curl it in the opposite direction. "Bend it like Beckham" I kept saying it to myself. I ran up to take it, I hit it with only a little bit of power......

The ball swerved...I stood dead still waiting.....GOAAAAL! The ball hit the back of the net. Yessss, I've scored my first goal and have become the teams youngest ever goalscorer. "GET IN", I shouted with passion as my teammates carried me to the home supporters. As I celebrated with the fans, I spotted him. He was clapping and winked at me. It was Dad! He had seen me score a free-kick he has scored a hundred times before.....
Great Idea Seni.......will be following keenly.....

School

Mixing football and school is said to be easy, but when you actually have to do it, its extremely difficult. I'm 15 years old and my parents want me to stay in school. My Dad says if he could start his football career all over again, he would make sure he didn't leave school just before doing his A levels. Education is key my parents say.

I've been revising a lot for my GCSE's that are coming up very soon. I would like to get as many A's as I can and if possible a few A stars. Notts County have already contacted my school that they will make sure I revise in my spare time. So this is what has been agreed. Before I go to training I must have revised a bit and done my homework. I get home around 4 and training isn't till 6 so I have two hours or so. If I don't finish my homework no match on Saturday. It's a pretty good idea. I always want to play matches therefore I will be forced to revise. Due to me being a player at Notts County I'm not allowed to play for my school, which is a shame but totally understandable.

Lunch time football, the cage

Alex: Its me, Brooklyn, Josh, Charlie, Adam vs you, Scott, Louis, Matt and Elliot is that fair?

Max: Yeah that's fair, each side have academy players.

Elliot and I both play for Notts County U18's but he's one year older than me. We've become quite good friends over the past few weeks. The cage, probably the most popular place for schoolboys to play football at school. We've picked the teams and now we're about to start...

*BALL IS THROWN IN THE AIR*

Josh used his height to beat Scott to the ball, he then passed it straight to Alex, who dribbled past Matt. I was being marked by Louis, the bully in the school.

"DOWN THE LINE ALEX!" I screamed. Alex looked up and passed it for me to run unto, but Louis didn't give up on marking as he chased behind me. I was quicker than him and it was me and the goal, as I was about to blast the ball into the net I felt my body crash against the floor... I was motionless

Alex: Foul! Oi Louis, why you gotta bully him? You purposely hacked him

Louis: He's a little baby lying on the floor, you're meant to be the next Beckham not the next Bale/Suarez you diver. You're dad would be so proud to here his son is a cheat cause he dives, hahaha.

As soon as I heard that, I felt the anger start to build up in me like a Volcano. Slowly and carefully I got up and told Louis to piss off. He then pushed me but before I could retaliate Elliot intervened.

Elliot: Oi piss off Louis yeah, he didn't do anything to you. Brooklyn you alright?

Yeah I'm...before I could finish my sentence I noticed blood dripping from my arm, I had gashed it badly. Elliot escorted me to the nurse's office where she put a bandage over my gash. She said I'm lucky I didn't fall down awkwardly as I could have dislocated it. To be honest all that was on my mind was, how long am I out for? The nurse must have read my mind as she told me "you can still train with it but be very careful Brooklyn, ok?". I smiled and said I would.

That will be the first and last time I play school football.

Frustration

I'm starting to get fed up here at Notts County. I haven't played a match in months! In every training session I constantly put in 100% but then when it comes to matches I'm either on the bench or not even in the squad. I know I'm still a bit young for the first team but this is happening with the U18's too.

Its a shame really. I thought Notts County would be the right club for me, but its turning out to be a complete nightmare. I'm just hoping a club sets me free from this prison. I rang Dad about it and he believes I may need to move clubs as soon as possible as this is a vital stage in my career where I need to be playing games week in week out and not just be warming the bench.

The problem is, I'm still on my contract with the club which doesn't expire till 2016! I guess I'll just have to try and be professional and hide my anger and frustration. After all, the season is nearly over so hopefully some clubs will be interested in me and will make an offer for me.
Brilliant story! Hope Brooklyn starts more games, he has a wonderful talent :P.

Beckham scores as Notts County win

Last night the son of English legend, David Beckham scored to help his side beat Doncaster Rovers and advance to the Johnstone's Paint trophy final. Brooklyn, the 15 year old scored the equalizer for Notts County, which triggered the comeback from Notts County.

The game didn't start to plan for Notts County as Llyod Isgrove scored for Rovers in the 22nd minute to give them the lead. Seven minutes later Brooklyn scored with a nicely timed finish to equalize. His dad would have been very proud to watch his son do that as he was spotted in the crowd.

Daniel Johnson completed the comeback in the 79th minute securing the win for Notts County and sending them to the final of the tournament.

We managed to get very brief words from Brooklyn:

I'm happy. I'm happy I scored my second goal for the club and I'm happy we're through to the final. Will I feature in the final, I don't know but I hope so.

Before this game, Brooklyn had stated he wasn't happy with not even being able to start games for the U18 side talk less of the first team, but if starts in the final that could all change.
