November Roundup

G Dyke's Olimpo have had a mixed November as they have finally ended their unbeaten run with a 1-0 loss to Atl. Tucuman. However they bounced back quickly against league leaders at the time Newell's with a 5-1 thrashing. They took 8 out of 15 potential points in one of this season's worst months for Olimpo. However they are still in the cup with a 5th round win over Defensa y Justicia.

February Roundup

It has been an outstanding month for Olimpo as they have surged to 5 wins out of 7 matches and 2 draws, leaving them top of the table with 12 matches to go. Any signs of unrest after rumours of G Dyke's potential departure to Europe are non-existant, showing the unwavering belief both the board and players have in their manager.

Topping the table, a great step towards the next phase of your journey, keep it up :)

Great work, you'll surely be moving on to a much bigger club next season.
I'm expecting a big move next season, mind you, only if you achieve promotion!
Very interesting and difficult challenge, looking forward to more :)

March Roundup

Olimpo have won 5 out of 7, drawing 2, in the league this month, leaving them in pole position at the top of the table. In the cup Olimpo are in cracking form as they breezed past Boca Unidos to secure a place in the 7th round. Manager G Dyke won Manager of the Month but it may not be enough to convince him to stay.

April Roundup

Another outstanding month for Olimpo as they won 3 out of 5 league games and beat Premier Division Racing Club on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Their incredible season has left them at the top of the table with promotion now secured, along with some key contracts such as Goalkeeper Fabio having been tied up, life in the Olimpo camp looks great. They secured a place in the cup semi-final with a 2-0 win over non-league Comunicaciones.

League Roundup

Olimpo finished the league season as champions with 95 points, an Argentinian Second Division record (previous record 77 points). Manager G Dyke has worked magic with his squad that only lost 1 match out of 42 fixtures in the league. They were promoted along with Newell's and Alte. Brown. Now all that is left is for their cup fixtures, perhaps they could become champions twice in one season?

Cup Semi-Final

THEY'VE DONE IT! OLIMPO ARE IN THE FINAL! They overcame Premier Division Godoy Cruz after a 2-2 draw with a 3-1 penalty victory. Manager G Dyke said after the match "I can't believe it. This time last year we were recovering after an appalling season but now our season continues with the cup final just 5 days away!" The odds are not in the favour of Olimpo as they face their toughest opponents yet in Independiente in the final.

The Cup Final

Olimpo lost 2-1 to Independiente in a narrow cup final. Olimpo went 1-2 down in the first 3 minutes and then 2-0 down due to a penalty but pulled one back with 12 minutes to go but they couldn't break through again. Olimpo manager G Dyke said after the match "My players played beautiful football and deserved at least extra time, that penalty was a disgustingly poor decision, Federico (Malano) didn't touch Montenegro it was a blatant dive".

Board Confidence

The board have apparently been very happy with G Dyke's performance this year and have apparently tried to offer him a new contract. Our reporters were there when he had his final meeting with the board of Olimpo.

GD (G Dyke)- Hello.

B (Board)- Hello. Firstly we would like to congratulate you on your team's superb performances this year in both the league and the cup, we thank you personally for finally showing Argentina our club's potential.

GD - Thank you. I have something to say now, to all of you. I thank you all for allowing me to have my first opportunity as a manager.

B - It is our pleasure.

GD - I would like to resign from my post as manager from this club as I have left an incredible squad that can grow and lead this club further but I have never really settled in Argentina. My Spanish still isn't great, even after 2 years of learning and I have taken this as a sign that I can stay here no longer. I hope you accept this.

B - We were going to offer you a new long term contract but if that is your wish GD - Thank you, I shall resign on the 1st of June if that is acceptable. I hope that this club prospers without me.

B - We wish you a long and successful career.

GD - Thank you
