BREAKING NEWS : BBC IS REPORTING THE SACKING OF BRENDAN RODGERS BY LIVERPOOL F.C.
BBC Merseyside correspondent Matthew Henry is reporting the departure of Brendan Rodgers from Liverpool Football Club late last night. Speculation is rife as to his successor, or indeed why he and the club have parted ways. A campaign on Merseyside has linked Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher to taking over the managerial aspect of the club as Player-Manager and Player-Assitant Manager respectively, with the start of the season so soon upon us. Reports coming out of London also speculate that Rafael Benitez or Paul Lambert might come for the Liverpool opening.
